Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2014
I really didn't like anything about it. Boyfriend liked it though.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
Excellent flavour. Used this on pickeral because didn't have tilapia. Will be doing this recipe on fish on a weekly basis now. Reason for giving it a 4 and not a 5 is that after coming out of the oven the topping melts and runs all over the pan - have to experiment a bit with the butter and the lemon juice (I think) to help the topping stay on the fish when broiled. Thanks for an awesome dish!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2013
Gave this a 4 based only on the flavour - I didn't really use it with intentions to tenderize meat - so I can't give it a 5 because I don't know how tender it will make a steak (but I intend to find out). I thought the flavour of this was really great and it was easy because I had all the ingredients on hand already. I didn't find the taste was offputting like some other ratings said it was. I also didn't puree the ingredients - just because I didn't feel like dirtying more dishes! I cut the recipe in half and used 3 minced garlic cloves in place of the garlic powder and dried minced garlic. Had some sirloin steaks in the fridge and felt like trying a marinade so I whipped this together and marinated for only an hour - the flavour was really great after an hour but the marinade didn't have time to work yet (my own fault for not leaving it longer). I am looking forward to trying this again on a more tough peace of meat for a much longer time period. The only thing I would change would be to add some salt - but I'm usually heavy handed with the salt anyway. Thanks for a great recipe Kookie!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: May 31, 2012
Awesome flavour, just as good or better than what you can buy in the store. Only thing that I added was some cornstarch in order to get a thick sauce for my taco meat. Thanks!

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: May 31, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly and marinated the steak for about 30 hours and the meat still wasn't that tender. Also, the flavour wasn't as good as I was hoping for either. Sorry.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
Absolutely delicious. I cannot stop eating these. Did anyone else have to add about 2 tablespoons of water? Mine was really dry at first but after I added the water they rolled perfectly. Cooked for six minutes, and they are perfectly soft. Took advice of others to roll it on parchment paper and it was easy. Also tried rolling with sugar and with flour and I liked flour better. Thank you for this recipe, I will now be making them for every occasion!

Mom's Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
Absolutely perfect. The only thing wrong with this recipe is that it doesn't make enough cookies. Double this one for sure, because they disappear far to quickly.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2011
I don't really like pancakes, but my boyfriend loves them so I surprised him with this recipe this morning. I asked him if he liked them and he said, "They are so thick so I was worried they would be really dry because thick pancakes are always so dry. These are so moist and delicious". Enough said. Thanks for the great recipe.

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
I followed this recipe to a tee, and it turned out totally delicious. My Grandma told me to never mix angel food in a bowl that was not glass, I just thought I'd share that little hint in case it is helpful to other users.

Creamy Pesto Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Only gave this one 4 stars because I had to change a few things. I was concerned about the fat content, as others were, so I used half and half cream. Also added some garlic and sauteed it with the butter. In the last three minutes of boiling the pasta, I added in about a cup of chopped asparagus. There wasn't as much sauce as I would have liked so next time I will add more cream, cheese, and pesto. The left overs sure didn't last long!

Broccoli and Tortellini Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
Excellent!!Everyone at the BBQ had second, even third helpings! I took the advice from other reviews to blanch the broccoli. My only complaint is that the recipe calls for WAY too much onion. Next time I will cut the amount in half and it will be a perfect salad.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
This was delicious. I added about 2 cups of broccoli and carrots. The recipe yielded 4 serivings but I only got a three small portions. Next time I will double it. The sauce was just the right amount, could maybe use for a little more if your a sauce lover. I used a little less crushed red pepper than the receipe called for and that was perfect. Warm, but not overpowering. Great recipe. Thanks!

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
This recipe turned out very well for me. I followed the ingredients listed but changed the cooking method a little bit. I broiled the meatballs for about 10 minutes. I was cooking this dish in my slow cooker so I combined the sauce on the stove in a saucepan. I put everything in the slow cooker on low for about 5 hours. I also doubled the sauce because I like lots, and this way I didn't waste any of the cranberry, as it comes in 16 ounce cans.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
Delicious!! The only changes that I made were using 3 cups of frozen mixed vegetables instead of carrots, and I didn't mash them. I also added a few things here and there to please my tastebuds (garlic in the potatoes, Worcestershire with the beef). I would have ate it all if I wasn't so full!!

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
This wasn't bad. I followed other comments and left out the water and used less tomato sauce. It was very very filling, I could barely finish one. I may try it out again.

Honey-Dijon Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
I was scared to try this recipes because I'm not a big fan of honey or mustard but I was pleasantly surprised with the result. The chicken was so moist and the flavour was excellent. There was lots of leftover sauce that's great over mashed potatoes or rice. I found 35 minutes was too long, 25 was when I took mine out of the oven. I can't wait until I make this one again.

Cheddar Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
I just thought that this recipes was alright. The coating was very tasty and crispy, but the chicken wasn't the greatest. I'm going to try it again and marinate the chicken before hand. I also think these would be better as a chicken finger type of dish.
