Pad See Ew (Thai Noodles with Beef and Broccoli)

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
Soooo delicious! Tastes like take out. I made a vegetarian version as I didn't have any beef...used broccoli, mushrooms, bean sprouts and green onions. Added a little sesame oil to the sauce and some hot sauce. Tasted even better when I ate it cold for a late night snack! Will soooo be making this again and again! Thanks for a fantabulous recipe!!!

Coq au Vin alla Italiana

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
Made this last night for my mom's birthday dinner and it turned out fantastic. It looked, smelled and tasted delicious. It was easy to prepare and made a lot. I added a 28oz can of tomatoes, substituted zuchini for mushrooms, Italian seasoning for the rosemary and used a pinot noir. I also added a bit of sugar. Will make again=)

Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Awesome, awesome, awesome is all I have to say!!! The texture of these cookies is heavenly! I leave out the cherry though and either dip half in dark chocolate or else make a thumbprint and fill with raspberry jam...but they are terrific as is too! I also took the first reviewers tip and whipped the butter for 5 minutes and whipping between the sugar and flour additions. Stellar recipe!

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Always a hit wherever I take it to! I usually leave out the chicken and add veggies like red bell pepper, mushrooms, sugar snap peas, etc. I also prefer to use rainbow rigatoni or penne pasta instead of the bowties.

Thai Chicken Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
Yummy is all I can say and I didn't even have cilantro or lemon juice! I used some green onions instead of cilantro, threw in some fresh garlic and I rolled the balls in panko breadcrumbs before frying and they were FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS! Soooo moist and soooo flavourful! Will definitely make these again=)

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
These are awesome! I used mini Cadbury Caramilk squares as I couldn't find Rolos. I put the pecans on top before placing in oven so they could roast up a bit. I also made some using Hershey Kisses with an M&M pushed into the tops...cute for Christmas. I drizzled some white chocolate on top just to make them look a little more special. The best part aside from tasting like Heaven on your tongue was that they were soooo quick to make and there was virtually no clean up! LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe!

Spinach Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This recipe was great...fast and easy to prepare, looked awesome and tasted even better! I added extra spices to the parmesan and white sauce...italian seasonings, garlic, soy sauce, salt and pepper...just kept tasting and throwing stuff in until it tasted right. Threw in some mushrooms and used fresh spinach leaves. Used a combo of green and white onions. Added some panko breadcrumbs to the parmesan mixture...liked the crunchiness it added. Will definitely make again!

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
Out of this world delish! Quite possibly the best soup I have ever made. Looks and tastes amazing and it was easy to make=) I did have to add more chicken broth as the rice seemed to absorb a lot of it. And I used about 2 tablespoons of curry for a more intense flavour. I sure wish I made a double batch!

Butter-Dipped Biscuit Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
So fast and easy! I was skeptical at first because there were so few ingredients but it was fantastic. I am not a bread maker but even I didn't goof this one up! I couldn't seem to make nice looking squares like the picture so I just rolled mine into balls and flattened. I halved the recipe and got 6 decent sized biscuits which I baked in a small casserole dish. After coating with butter, I generously sprinkled the biscuits with garlic powder and an Italian seasoning blend. They turned out beautifully and were very flavorful. Served with Mulligatawny Soup I from this site and a chicken caesar salad...deeelish! I will be making these often, especially to wow my dinner guests=)

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
YUMMY! Made this tonight and was thoroughly impressed as was my husband. I mixed together one can of cream of mushroom and one can of cream of chicken and 3/4 can of milk and a sprinkle of salt, pepper and curry powder. I sauteed the chicken with chopped onions, mushrooms, frozen broccoli florets and garlic in a skillet with olive oil, salt and pepper, oregano and basil. I cooked the Stove Top according to the box instructions. Then I mixed everything in a large bowl...soups, milk, chicken mixture, cheese, and stuffing. I sprinkled panko breadcrumbs and more cheese on top. It was a warm and comforting meal that I will make again and again!

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
I made these as a side for Mother's Day dinner and was absolutely delighted with how they turned out. I followed the recipe to a tee. I was concerned they'd be too vinegary but they were perfect. I will make these again for sure...they taste great and are super simple to prepare.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
Easy to make, looked fantastic and tasted as good as it looked! I don't usually like vinegar but this was very tasty...just a little zing but not overly tart. I added a pinch of sugar to cut some of the tartness but probably didn't need to. I used 1/4c balsamic vinegar and 1 cup of broth, a heap of garlic and and a heap of mushrooms...perfect amount of sauce for 3 large chicken breasts=)

Cheese Rosti

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
This was a super yummy side dish! I peeled and microwaved my potatoes for a few minutes, then grated. I lightly oiled a pan, layered on some potato, some grated mozzarella, salt and pepper, garlic powder and Italian seasoning, topped with some more potatoes and the seasonings. I fried it until it covered, didn't need any water or extra butter. When it was browned and crispy on the bottom, I cut it in half and flipped it (easier than flipping it whole). When it was browned and crispy...I served it with a dollop of sour cream. Will be making this one often!

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
So fast and easy to make AND they taste great too...that equals five stars in my books! Read the reviews and used half brown and half white sugars, 2 tbsp of flour and a splash of vanilla, and rolled the balls in sugar before flattening with a fork and baking on parchment paper for about 15 minutes until they were a golden brown colour. I let them cool completely on the parchment and they are crisp on the outside and chewy in the middle...perfection! Will make again and again...next time I'll add some chocolate chips!
