Sweet Potato Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
This was more of a regular cake than a pound cake texture. It was good - not great. Mine was just slightly overdone at 62 minutes. I should have taken it out sooner.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
I've altered this recipe at least a dozen times. My findings: stick with Toll House chips. (I tried Ghiradelli and didn't like it nearly as much). Don't "melt" butter as recipe says. Room temperature is perfect. Also, use room temperature eggs. Use light brown sugar. Trust me, there is a taste difference when you use dark. Refrigerate batter overnight. Use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to make the cookies extra large and uniform in size. And, biggest tip for success: Take the cookies out when they look like they're just turning brown on the edges but, undercooked in the middle. (15 minutes in my oven). Then, keep them on the baking sheet for an hour or so to continue cooking ever so slightly. There is a real science to cooking the PERFECT Chocolate Chip Cookie :) Oh, and these freeze really well!

The bread is really good. Did anyone else have trouble with the glaze? After two attempts, I gave up. It didn't work for me.

this is really good! Hubby thought the dill weed was a little too much but I thought it was great. I will make this again for sure.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
I followed the recipe without alterations. There is waaaay too much cream cheese. The bottom layer was soggy. The top layer was almost burnt. I read and re-read the instructions. Not sure why this is so highly rated.

WWII Oatmeal Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
My cookies weren't as puffy as other featured photos but still very good. I overcooked my first batch and then got the hang of it. For me, they were perfect after 10 minutes! I like a soft textured cookie. I didn't have raisins so I used craisins which I plumped in hot water for about 15 minutes.

Orange Cream Fudge

Very rich, creamy and delicious! After reading so many reviews about the consistancy being grainy, I cooked the first 3 ingredients for about 15 minutes while stirring constantly. My fudge wasn't grainy at all.
