About this Cook
I am an almost stay-at-home mother of two little boys. (Ages 3ys and almost 1.) I'm married to the pickiest eater I've ever met (and I have a sister who won't eat anything green or anything that crunches...this includes cereals and fruit.) I like to try new things and love decorating cakes. I want to make cakes that look like the ones my husband's aunt makes and taste like my brother-in-laws mother's.
My favorite things to cook
Green Bean casserole...because it's simple and it makes my husband and 3yr old so happy. :o)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I think the only thing I've ever seen my mother cook is meatloaf. I also seem to recall eating skillet hamburgers every day for a month.
My cooking triumphs
I single-handedly made Thanksgiving dinner while I was six months pregnant with my first child. It was my first attempt ever at turkey and the only thing not from scratch was a Mrs. Smith's Apple Pie. (The menu: Roasted turkey, potato casserole, garlic mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, pumpkin, sweet potato, and pecan pies, corn casserole, salad, yeast rolls, roast beef, and a gravy.
My cooking tragedies
I've tried several times to make Panetonne (an italian sweet/fruit Christmas bread). It's my husband's favorite. My third and most recent attempt actually made it to the oven. Let's just say that if houses in FL were built out of my bread...hurricanes would be no problem. We joked about using loaves of it to build a playhouse for our children.

Julia's Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies In A Jar
I too added a little extra flour and used two eggs... my "cookies" were more cake-like than anything but they had a good flavour. I think next time I will call them muffin tops or make them into cookie bars.
