Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
Excellent; I comined this delicious sounding recipe w/Jeremy's recipe for "Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs" since they sounded almost identical. The difference is where I added the extra items from this recipe-- like celery, bell pepper, xtra onion. The only things I changed are: (1) an extra can of diced tomatoes-- it looked like too little sauce for all the xtra meatballs I accidentally made; (2) I only used ground beef b/c that is all I had on hand; (3) I used less garlic (b/c the only reviewer here said everythng tasted like garlic- so being cautious); (4) I used less sugar (just a little over 1/2 tsp sugar); (5) I added xtra stuff to the sauce at the "sautee" stage: 1/2 jalepeno pepper diced, whole small red pepper diced, small can of sliced mushrooms; (6) I omitted the milk in the meatballs b/c it sounded weird; but may try it next time. Overall, excellent recipe; fairly easy to make-- this is my first time making spaghetti from scratch since junior high!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
My first review set! Excellent; I comined this delicious sounding recipe with Anne Enyons "Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs" since the recipes sounded almost identical. The difference is where I added the extra items from Annes recipe-- like celery (1stalk diced), 1 bell pepper (diced), onion, garlic clove & salt/pepper (in meatballs). The only things I changed are: (1) an extra can of diced tomatoes-- it looked like too little sauce for all the xtra meatballs I accidentally made; (2) used 1 clove garlic and 1 chopped onion in the meatballs as Anne's recipe notes; (3) I used more sugar (just a little over 1/2 tsp sugar), and more salt to the sauce 2tsp; (4) I added xtra stuff to the sauce at the "sautee" stage: 1/2 jalepeno pepper diced, whole small red pepper diced, small can of sliced mushrooms, and the celery/bell pepper noted above; (5) I omitted the milk in the meatballs b/c it sounded weird; but may try it next time. Overall, excellent recipe! Also, fairly easy to make. (Note, this is my first time making spaghetti from scratch since a junior in late 90's).

Daniel's Favorite Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
This is probably the best cheesecake I have had! It's better than the Cheesecake Factory; and that's saying alot b/c that's my favorite restaurant. I used the shortbread pie crust from Keebler. Even better than Graham crust.

Stuffed Turkey Legs

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
I made this dish for my first Thanksgiving dinner-- or the first time I cooked rather. It was simply delicious. I also stuffed some traditional stuffing in the legs. I did both smoked turkey and regular turkey legs.

White Wine Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I made this into a "White Wine Chicken NOODLE Soup". This soup was perfect. The delicious aroma filled the house; and I was on my toes waiting to eat! I did not have any zuchinni or parsnips on hand, so I left those two out. The soup came out perfect anyway. During the last 30 min or less, I added a bag or curly egg noodles to the soup. MMMMM!

Sunday Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
Wow! This is probably the best recipe I have ever made from allrecipes.com or anywhere. It was absolutely delicious. It tastes like restaurant quality. I made a few slight tweaks. Added 1t basil, 1t salt, 1/2t pepper, 1t parsley; I used a green bell pepper instead of the red pepper since its more authentic from what I understand. Then I cooked the rice (Jasmine) separately. After the rice cooked, I sprinkled a little lemon & lime juice on it, and cut a roma tomato in slices onto the rice --and garnished w/parsley flakes. Omgsh!

Spaghetti Sauce I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
This was good basic spaghetti side (non-entree) base recipe. It is definitely a keeper that I will continue to build on. I may just need a little more salt and the full amount of sugar to make it the 5 stars! It went great w/my cabbage and fried fish dinner tonight!

Never Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Best homemade chocolate chip cookie I've made thus far. However, I would like a bit more salt or something to make the flavor more rich and binding. Therefore I give it 4stars.

Linguine Pasta with Shrimp and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
I give it 5 stars! I added a little onion and fresh spinach (pluse spices: basil & oregano). I didn't have any wine so I used a little tomato sauce. But everything else was fresh ingredients. Wonderful, flavorful dish.

Best-Ever Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2012
This meat loaf is perfect. It will be in my regular rotation and it is my staple meatloaf recipe now. I used baby carrots and cut them in chunks, delicious! I think the sauce measurements must be at typo. Make sure to add the brown sugar to taste. Otherwise it will be way too sweet.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
The texture is good, chewy & moist. For that I give 2-3 stars. I followed the top tips of hand stirring and not over beating. However, the flavor is lacking. It just doesn't taste brownie-ish. I'm looking for more chocolate and fudgyness (flavor) that comes w/brownie. The sweet/salt factor is off also (not sweet/salty enough). I guess the frosting is needed-- I didn't make it. I plan to toss this batch and keep looking for the perfect brownie recipe.
