Blueberry Mini Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
This was my first time making muffins... they came out fantastic! I read the other reviews, so I added a little extra buttermilk... probably about a tablespoon, and they're moist and wonderful. I also added a streusal topping. Yummy! Thank you!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I had to eat one straight out of the oven, it smelled so yummy. I followed other's suggestions and added vanilla and cinnamon to the batter, and I would have used oil except there wasn't any in the house. The butter worked fine, though, and they're already half gone. Soooo good!

Angela's Easy Breaded Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
Easy and flavorful recipe. I was really grateful to past reviews that mentioned putting the chicken under the broiler for the last few minutes--really made a difference!

Cogy's World Famous Matzo Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
Fantastic! It was my first time making matzo balls, so I'm sure any mistakes were my own. Some of them fell apart and with the balls I kind of got a matzo mush but... even that was yummy!

Brown Sugar Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
My roommate was making up a box of carrot cake muffins, and asked me to help her with the frosting. I couldn't find my measuring spoons, so I just eyeballed everything and I can't believe how good it turned out! Our other roommate probably ate half right out of the bowl!

Very Easy Mushroom Barley Soup

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
I ACCIDENTALLY doubled everything except for the chicken broth, and it came out wonderfully. Really thick, but I just added a tiny bit of water before I microwaved it and it was so yummy. Really, really hit the spot when I was sick.

A new favorite. I practically double the veggies, just because I love 'em so much. Soooo good!

Chocolate Toffee Crunch Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Delish. I brought them into work for a client, and had to apologize to him because my co-workers devoured them before I was able to give them to him!

Veggie Vegetarian Chili

Fantastic recipe. I kept the mushrooms and added celery. Completely forgot to add the corn--will do it next time! Still wonderful!

Yellow Dhal - Sweet Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
Mine somehow came out looking more like green dhal... but it was still delicious.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
I get so many requests for this bread! Because it tends to get eaten up so fast, I like to double the recipe and divide it into four rounds. I also like to add sea salt on top. YUM!

Whole Wheat Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This is a fun recipe to play around with. For one, I substituted applesauce for oil, Splenda for sugar, and almond milk for the regular milk. I added frozen blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. I also used 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup oatmeal. I was actually using this recipe as a base to try and duplicate the muffins made at the Newsroom in Los Angeles... I'm still working on it, but this recipe really helped get me started! Thank you!

Challah I

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I can't even tell you how much I loved this bread--not only eating it, but baking it, as well. I think that next time I'll add a little extra honey, though, because I like my challah sweet.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
These are fantastic. I followed the recipe exactly as is (with the exception of sifting the flour...) and was rewarded with big, delicious, chewy chocolate chip cookies. My roommate brought some to a sick friend (who also happens to be a chef) who even said they were some of the best cookies he's ever had. So, yeah, 5 stars all the way, my friend.

Coffee Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
This frosting was wonderful! I took another reviewer's advice and doubled the amount of coffee and chocolate in this, and then I tripled the recipe to frost "Black Magic Cake," also on this site. A huge hit!

So yummy and moist! I brought into work, and all the staff and the customers gobbled it up. I made it with Coffee Buttercream Frosting from this site, and they made an awesome combination. Thank you!

Cheese Dip with Beer

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
I made this dip for a party at work. Our students loved it, and I'm still getting compliments about what a "great cook" I am! I melted the cream cheese in a crockpot on "high" then added the rest of the cheeses. I stirred pretty continually, and then when the cheese was partially melted I added the beer. When the dip was pretty well mixed I put the crockpot on low and voila! I had to add a little extra beer occasionally throughout the night, but other than that it's such an easy, yummy dip! I served it with pretzel sticks.

Lacy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
These were such a hit! They are a bit time-consuming, but so worth it. I added an extra 1/4 cup of flour per other reviews, and put (9) 1 tsp. balls on a baking sheet at a time. I also melted chocolate and sandwiched the cookies. I get so many compliments on these every time I make them-- on both the taste, and how beautiful they are!

Butter Cream Frosting II

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
So yummy! After adding 3 cups of confectioners' sugar I split the frosting into two different bowls, and added another cup of sugar to one and a cup of Hershey's Dark Chocolate Cocoa Powder to the other. I played around with the milk measurement, and probably added more than 1/4 cup. The vanilla frosting was yummy, but the chocolate was AMAZING. I used this to frost the Rainbow Clown Cake from this site.

Rainbow Clown Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
This was FUN. I made this into cupcakes for a friend's birthday, and they turned out wonderfully. They're delicious and just so much fun to make and look at! I didn't marble the colors, I kind of like them just stacked on top of each other. Thank you!!
