Cream Cheese Frosting I

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
I doubled the recipe and substituted soy milk for the cream and toffuti cream cheese to make it non-dairy. I added a little bit of leon juice for some tanginess and probably added a bit more confectioner's sugar to make it thicker.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
SOOOOO MOIST and DENSE!!!! This was so delicious!!! I made it parve/non-dairy - so used toffuti cream cheese instead of regular creamcheese. I used Earth's Balance Margarine in place of the butter I increased the vanilla to 2.5 tsps. I took other's advice and made an attempt at adding nondairy 1/4 cup buttermilk - by using 1 tbsp lemonjuice and added soy milk to make that into 1/4 cup. I poured 1/2 the batter into the bunt pan, added about 12-15 chopped nondairy oreos, and poured the remaining batter on top. Baked for about 1hour, 10 minutes (maybe will do 5 minutes less next time). When cooled, flipped ity out and drizzled a nondairy cream cheese frosting on top and sprinkled it with chopped oreo's - the cake was finished in just minutes of serving it!!!

Used only 1/4 cup olive oil and reduced the amount of parsley. I did not use the garlic of mint. Classical Israeli salad taste.

Cookies 'n' Creme Fudge

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Soooo goooood! I made the recipe exactly acc. to instructions (except used nestle white chocolate chips instead of white chocolate bars). It was AWESOME! I followed a lot of the other reviews and broke/cut the cookies into 4-5 pieces over a plate. I poured 1/2 the fudge mixture into the pan, then c arefully picked up the whole chunks, placed them ontop and then spread the rest of the fudge over it - this avoided any dirty spots. and the cookies were well dispersed and evenly coated. I placed it in the fridge for about 2 hours to harden up a bit, cut it into small squares and stored it in the fridge till I served it! It was great!!!

Hockey Pucks

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
I made my own version - Instead of the PB and crackers, I used Oreo sandwich cookies. I coated half of them with melted white chocolate and drizzled some chocolate on it or some colored sprinkles or some rainbow sprinkles on top. I coated the other half with melted brown chocolate and drizzled it with white chocolate or colored sprinkles. I placed them on a parchment lined cookie sheet and into the refrigerator to set for about 20 minutes. It was quite a hit with the kids and super easy to make!! the kids were able to help out as well!

Sweet and Silky Strawberry Sorbet

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2010
Very good! I thought the Sorbet was going to have a creamier/velvetier texture from the thickening agent in the puree but it didn't. I had to let the Sorbet sit out on the counter for 15 minutes to get it to scoop out nicely.

Cookie Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
AWESOME!!! I made white Sandwich cookies with non-dairy Tofuti cream cheese. I placed both of those in my food processor to combine. Then I refrigerated the mixture for a few hours, made them into balls and froze them in a single layer. Then I gave them a quick bath in parve white chocolate and added some sprinkles on the top. They were a huge hit!

The Best Barbequed Chicken Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
Seriously EASY recipe!!! Gets bonus points for that!!! I reduced the oil to 1/4 cup and used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I also used Diet Sierra Mist (I might try it with ginger ale once) if I have it on hand. I also reduced the soy sauce to about 1/2 cup and added some McCormick's Montreal Steak Seasoning to it. Kids and adults ate it up!!! Great recipe!!

Bread Machine Challah II

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
Delicious!!! This dense challah has a sweet and delicious flavor. I too added 1/2 cup of high gluten bread flour to the batch which made the consistency perfect! I used to make this recipe with my bread machine, but it broke. I made this recipe last night - making 1.5x the recipe in my kitchen aid. I let the yeast, sugar and water proof for 10 minutes and then mixed in all of the wet ingredients and then all of the dry ingredients. PERFECT!!!! I let it rise in a "PAMed" large bowl covered with saran wrap - in my microwave (I learned that trick somewhere - The dough is still warm from the warm water added to it. I place it in the microwave to rise bc it is confined in there and the walls or the microwave keep it insulated, removing the need to placing in on top of a pot of warm water... (it just gets a little annoying if i NEED the microwave during that time). Let rise for 1.5 hours. Breaded it and let rise for 30 minutes. I have also used this delicious dough for babka and ragulach. The strechines and elasticity of the dough is really great! I did not need to add any more flour after the initial ingredients were all combined!
