Savory Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
It was a great recipe to build on! Of course, I too, added/changed some things. I spiced the chicken with garlic powder, season salt, pepper, and onion powder. I used sour cream instead of milk. I added a little salsa to the soup mixture (for added flavor/color--it was a nice contrast against the green beans I served with it). I also added sliced green olives and a little cayenne pepper to the soup mix. I crushed some Cheez Its and fried onions in lieu of bread crumbs. I was fantastic! I will definitely make it again!

Steak and Mushroom Florentine

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
This was very tasty! In addition to the onions, I sauted mushrooms too. I added garlic and cayenne pepper to give it a little kick. I omitted the tomato and served over a bed of rice. This is something I will definately do again!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
This is a great starter recipe. I only had 3 bananas so I added a peach as another reviewer suggested. I like really moist banana bread and this was not as moist as I wanted it to be. That may be because I didn't have as many bananas as needed. As others suggested, I too added cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of ginger. I only had 1/2 cup of brown sugar so I substituted 1/4 cup of white sugar and the flavor was still good. I think that if I only have 3 bananas next time, I will add sour cream to moisten it up a bit.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
I've never made chocolate chip cookies before and this seemed to be an easy enough recipe to try. I followed the directions exactly and they are decent cookies. They are not the greatest cookies that the other reviewers are raving about. They were very heavy and did not have that great cookie texture. I will probably try a different recipe next time.

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
This is the first time ever making macaroni salad and I'm glad I used this recipe! Very tasty. I followed the directions precisely except that all I had was apple cider vinegar. I also added a can of sliced black olives. Others mentioned that there was too much sauce. If you like a lot of sauce then it's fine but I don't so I boiled another cup of noodles and threw them in. I also added another stalk of celery. Thanks for the great recipe, I will definately use this again!

Fish in Foil

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
This is a great recipe. Very easy. I didn't have jalepenos to use. And I sprayed fish with butter Pam. I used sliced lemon, garlic powder, season salt, blackened seasoning, and dill weed. It turned out fabulous! I can't wait to experiment with other seasonings! I cooked it for 20 minutes on 400 in my toaster oven with ease. Like another reviewer said though, it was a little too wet so I will vent it next time.**Update!!**I've made this so many times now! The venting didn't work so the fish was still wet. What I did was put a piece of bread under the fish to soak up the juices and it came out perfect. Not wet at all!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
This was good. I did like the other reviewers and omitted the flour. I chopped up the chicken, added miscellaneous veggies and served it over rice. And instead of balsamic vinegar, I used raspberry balsamic vinegar and mixed in some brown sugar to cut the acidic flavor. We will do this again!

Coconut Ambrosia Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2012
It's a good salad. I agree that it does need more fruit. I added some chopped apples and grapes and pecans for a crunch. I also added some cinnamon and that pushed it over the edge into delishousness!!!
