Brownie Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2011
Fantastic!!! I followed other reviews and poured on warm brownies. I used Brooke's Bombshell Brownies from this site. Mine did turn out thinner than I expected. I let it cool in the pan for a few minutes to begin to "set up." Once it started to have a little bit of a fudgy appearance and texture, I poured in on the warm brownie. It was still a little gooey so I popped the entire, uncut pan into the fridge for an hour or so and it was perfect! I did also notice that I couldn't leave them out of the fridge in the warm weather or the topping began to get soft again. Beware---this topping and Brooke's brownies are dangerously addicting. Make at your own risk! :-)

Veggie Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
Great recipe. I altered by adding bread crumbs tossed in melted butter to the top. I still cooked it uncovered for the recommended time. It was great...my entire family really enjoyed it. Quick and easy and perfect for turkey leftovers.

Slow Cooker Tipsy Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
I really loved this recipe. I used chicken breasts and did not brown them first, but it didn't seem to matter. It was really easy and turned out great. I gave it a 4 because it was a little salty. I served it over brown rice and my family really enjoyed it.

Cheese Dip II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Very good. I had to play with the texture a little. First I thought it was to thin and added a little more cheese, but then it was to thick...so I added a little more milk. In the end it was great. I should have just left it alone the first time! ;-)

Broccoli Chicken Roli

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
Great taste! The amounts however did make MUCH more than I could stuff in the crescent rolls. I could have easily used 1 and maybe 2 more packages of rolls. One suggestion, only bake for the amount of time on the crescent roll package. The amount of time listed on the recipe is much to long, the crescents begin to burn. Another tip...I used the leftover mix as sandwiches on toast....great!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
Great recipe. Two changes 1. Omitted Cajun and cayenne due to wanting my kids to eat it and ...here's the best 2. Toward the end, I added a box of jambalaya rice mix. It gave it the extra flavor that my omissions had left out and beefed it up a bit with the rice. Also, adding the rice mix made it thicker, which I prefer. Great recipe. Sorry for the changes, but thought someone else out there with kids might enjoy a less spicy version. This one's a keeper...thanks!!

Paula's Bread Sticks

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
Great breadstick! I used my bread machine. They came out soft. We loved the sesame seeds in there and the sugar definitely gave them a sweeter taste. After baking, I removed and added shredded mozz and ched cheese and put back in the oven until the cheese had melted...gone in minutes! Thanks Paula!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
Fantastic. I had enough for one loaf pan and 12 muffins. I took the advice of others and used 2 C white sugar and 1 C of brown, a little vanilla, 1/2 C of oil and 1/2 C of applesauce. Couldn't have been better!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
Wonderful and SOOOOOOO easy. I put two large frozen chicken breasts in, poured in the cans of soup, half a bag of frozen mixed veggies, and filled with chicken broth. At about 30 - 45 minutes I added the dough. It turned out great...definitely can compete with mamaw's recipe! :-) One tip, for the last 30 - 45 min after the dough was added, I stirred every 10 min or so, to coat the dumplins with the broth. They turned out great and not to "doughy." This is a great recipe...thanks!!!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
Followed the ingredient list exactly with the exception of the walnuts. However, I only baked them for 10 minutes. I ended up with soft, chewy, tasty cookies. For those of you that prefer a crunchier cookie, I think 12 minutes would be perfect. Thanks!

Buckeyes I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
This was my first time making buckeyes and they turned out great. I used 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter and 1 cup crunchy because that's all I had on hand and it was perfect. They still had a creamy texture, but with a little bit of crunch...just perfect. It was a little time consuming and messy to dip each ball in the choc mixture with a toothpick. Next time I'll just toss it in the bowl of choc and fish it out with a fork. These were great and worth the time. Thanks for sharing!

Thought it was a good pie, but just couldn't taste the apples, only the blackberries. Was very good, but may add more apples next time.

Cheesy Sausage Zucchini Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
Very good! Prep work is a little time consuming with the chopping and pre-cooking of veg., sausage, and rice. I used yellow squash from my garden and a can of cheddar cheese soup...all I had. I did add bread crumbs drizzled with butter on top which really added something extra. Turned out great. I always make enough to freeze. It reheats wonderfully. Enjoy!
