Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
Didn't add the pecans to the crumb topping (had some left over from my apple pie recipe), but it's a keeper! Both kid love it!

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
Perfect every time. I don't make pies very often, so when I do I need a basic, easy, no fail recipe for crust. Not only does this one give me that, but I also get compliments on it every time!

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
This has been a go to chili recipe for me since it's been published in Taste Of Home. Not only is it supper easy, but it also tastes good and can easily be multiplied to feed a crowd. We love it in bread bowls.

Brined Bratwurst

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
Was really good. I boiled and reduced the juices and it was a great dip for the brat sandwiches we made.

Green Bean Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
Unusual mix of ingredients, but delicious. Served hot at a picnic of about 40 people and got rave reviews. I did use frozen green beans, but fresh limes, garlic, and peaches.

King Cake in a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
Living near New Orleans and having access to so many bakeries with King Cake, I have to say this just isn't quite right. I would cut the icing in half to begin with. There was too much, making the cake too sweet. But something was missing in the cake flavor itself. While my daughter did like it better than the local grocery store's King Cake and my family did eat it without any problem, I'll look elsewhere for that "great" King Cake recipe.

Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
Everyone loved it! Husband said it was a keeper - and that was without adding the cayenne pepper and the liquid smoke. I had used it to make beef fajitas with lots of green and red bell peppers and onions. I did add fresh cilantro just before pulling skillet of fajitas off of the burner.

Pork Chops with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
My husband and I both loved this!! My kids weren't too excited, but their tastes are pretty limited. Will definitely make again!! It is in my recipe box now. I used 8 thin cut boneless pork chops, spaghetti sauce and dry sherry as substitutions.

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
I loved that this recipe was from scratch instead of using a store bought pancake mix! If you are looking for a fat, light, airy pancake, this isn't it; it would need less milk and more baking powder. And that may be some of the comments about it being too flat or heavy. The bananas make it very moist, but I wouldn't call it mushy. It was a great way to get my bread loving daughter to mix in some fruit with her breakfast! My son rated it okay.
