Trying to keep the extra pounds off, I altered this recipe and it was still excellent. Nice flavor, a little crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. I used 1 cup of apple butter in place of the oil, replaced the 3 cups of sugar with 2 cups of splenda (the apple butter added some sweetness so I decreased the amount) replaced 1 1/2 cups of white flour with whole wheat and used 2 egg whites in place of 2 whole eggs. Of course, there was the splenda after taste, but still really good in spite of that.
