About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Soups, cookies, vegetable main dishes, spicy stuff, anything I can double the cheese on, anything cream cheese based, and food with ingrediants I've never heard of before. I refuse to touch raw meat so I tend to stay pretty healthy besides dessert!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making rice pudding with my mom every year. It's the most time intensive recipe I've ever seen (it takes 2 hours!), but it's amazing!
My cooking triumphs
I hosted Thanksgiving dinner last year (2009). It was a lot of fun and everything turned out great. I'd never cooked meat before so a 20 pouund turkey seemed a little daunting at first :o)
My cooking tragedies
Forgetting to check the oven before I turned it on as a teenager. I destroyed a fair amount of my parent's tupperware that way.

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling
Put everything in a little crock pot for 3 hours and it was good, but very plain Jane. The picky (meat and potatoes) boyfriend loved it. I tend to like a little more flavorfull food and only liked it. Would make it again because it is a good compromise for rather differently eaters, not because it was so delicious. I think it would be better with more garlic, chili powder, and maybe a little chipotle or ancho powder.

Sausage Biscuits and Gravy
I'm not a huge biscuit and gravy fan, but made still really liked this. Good consistency. Made for someone who LOVES biscuits and gravy and he only seemed lukewarm on this.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
Really easy and fool proof. Served on toasted onion rolls and topped it with blue cheese coleslaw from this site. Yummy!!
