I know in the fast paced world we live in now that cooking and baking like that seems behind the times, but I get no greater satisfaction than I do from cooking and baking like my Grandma did while I was growing up. I want to be exactly like her and carry on her tradition of exceptional food made from scratch. Peanut Butter Pie was a favorite of my family's...we have it at every family get together and we also make it quite often just to enjoy after a meal! I find triumph in making a dish that my husband really likes. He's somewhat of a picky eater and so getting him to tell me how much he likes a meal without me prodding him for an answer is a great triumph. It helps taht I'm learning his specific food tastes, and how to meld flavors and spices together. I made grilled cheese for my husband and I one night. I burnt them so bad that our fire alarms that hadn't gone off in months due to dead batteries went off. I brought dead batteries back to life!
