Winter Root Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
I doubled the recipe to take it to a friend who had a baby, and it turned out very bitter. Maybe I used too many turnips, but it was not good. I did not have celery root and I substituted carnival squash for butternut. I would not make this recipe again. The liquid portions are way off as well. I had to add 3 additional cups of liquid to make it a soup consistence vs. baby food.

Sarmale (Stuffed Cabbage or Vine Leaves)

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
Place the head of cabbage in a large pot over high heat and add water to cover. Boil cabbage for 15 minutes, or until it is pliable and soft. Drain and allow to cool completely. Remove the hard outer vein from the leaves. This helps a lot!

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
We don't eat a lot of what I would call "southern food." That being said, we LOVED this! I used raw milk in place of the cream and 2 cans of corn instead of frozen. It was great! Thanks!

Rich and Creamy Roasted Eggplant Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
Perfection in a bowl! This tastes like fall. One thing I would suggest after pureeing, is to drain through a siv to get rid of the tomato seed.s

Zucchini Egg Bake

Yummy! I didn't have marjoram or monterey jack, but it was great without both. I am going to try it with marjoram next time.

Baked Potato Soup III

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
Yummy! I use whole wheat flour and it works great! The key is to bake the potatoes. We even use the salted skins in the soup to add nutrition and little bit of crunch. Very tasty!

These are my favorite ever! The only thing I changed is cutting the red pepper flakes in half for my 2 year old son. The whole family loves these!

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
Delicious! We used less of the spices because our 2 year old was eating it. Add quacamole and sour cream into the soup at serving at it is a home run!

We used dry beans and boiled them. They didn't stick together. We won't make these again.

Great! Made as written with rice pasta and it was super scrumptious! I agree with other reviews that more spinach would be better.

Imitation Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 8, 2010
This recipe was a lot of work for such a bland dish. I left out the hot sauce, because my 21 month old son would be eating it, but other then that I followed it exactly. Unfortunately disappointing.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
So tasty! My 14 month old won't eat beef, but loved this! Next time I will be sure to use lean ground beef to avoid all the fat in the pan. This was my first time making meatloaf and we don't need to search any more for another recipe!

The smell is heavenly, like the description suggests. These are perfect with powdered sugar alone, they are that good. No alterations are necessary. Best crepes I've ever had, and I lived in Europe for 3 years!

So tasty! I want to eat the entire batch right now! I didn't roll out my dough long enough, but with a little extra time in the oven they turned out perfectly. This recipe is a keeper!
