Harvest Pork Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
I used fresh squash and left out the carrots because I didn't have any.Used a combination of Braeburn and Granny Smith apples and left the peels on my potatos cause I like em that way! got mixed reviews from the kids, most gave it a 3.5, none HATED it. I thought it got better and better the more I ate. I am thinking it will be even better tomorrow. Thanks for the great recipe.

We had this with a geman themed dinner and about half the kiddies liked it. I enjoyed it although I might reduce the sugar a bit next time.

Chicken and Chorizo Pasta Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
I bought 2 lbs of ground chorizo sausage and adapted this recipe to use it. Used 2 lbs pasta to stretch the recipe to feed 10. I used milk instead of cream, red curry powder instead of the red pepper flakes, green pepper instead of red because that's what I had in the fridge and added an onion and some mushrooms because it sounded good. As I was getting the shredded cheese out of the fridge I found some riccotta cheese and added a cup of that to the sauce. Was quite spicey but the kiddies still came back for seconds, then thirds, and fourths for a few! Have wanted to try chorizo for a while we are all glad I did!

Italian Bread II

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
I mixed it up by hand and let it rise for 50 minutes then formed one loaf and baked on a pizza stone. This tastes so good I am making 2 more as the original cools. dough was very sticky but the finished loaf is the best!

Made a few modifications...garlic, bay leaf, pepper and Marjoram. left the skin on the potatoes. Kids ( who HATE soup) gobbled it up like there was no tomorrow! A definate do-over!

Applesauce Pork Loin

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
This was very moist. I had a 41/2lb Tenderloin so I increased the other ingredients proportionaly. I did add garlic powder, Sage and some basil to flavor it up a bit. Also I substituted French's Horseradish Mustard and a dash of white cooking wine for the Dijon Mustard. There were no leftovers.

Chicken Dumpling Strips

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
I added celery and carrots, also made extra broth as others suggested. The kids loved the texture of the dumplings, the wife not so much. I will try them a bit thinner next time and see if she likes that better.
