About this Cook
I have been married since 06/06/06 to my high school sweetheart. We just had our first child, a daughter :) We have two dogs. We have a large circle of family and close friends, so we always have some gathering or party to go to.
My favorite things to cook
I am good with casseroles and my favorite one to make is Shepards Pie and scalloped potatoes with smoked sausage. I am also good with any kind of lasagna. I like using my slow cooker for chili and roasts. I like to find new recipes on this website because they are typically easy to follow and turn out well for me. It is a good website for cookers who are just starting out.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom and Gram make excellent homemade stuffed green peppers with spanish rice. I haven't attempted those yet. My mom's signature dish for the holidays is swedish meatballs all handmade with a homemade gravy. I haven't attempted those either.
My cooking triumphs
I made my first homemade fresh peach pie, which I thought I was going to somehow mess up. But, it turned out amazing. I am not a very good baker, but I might just have a talent for making pies.
My cooking tragedies
I'm probably the only person who thought that to make a lot of jello, you just add a lot of water. Which I did. And I couldn't figure out why the jello never set until I called me mom and she told me more water does not equal more jello.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
I didn't think we had anything for breakfast this morning, but then I remembered I had some flour in the pantry (and luckily ONE egg, lol). I've never made pancakes from scratch before, but I figured I could find a recipe on this website, and this was the first pancake recipe that popped up. Such easy instructions to follow; I didn't change one thing about preparation and the pancakes turned out fantastic! I guess I don't need to buy premade mix anymore.

Incredibly Easy Chicken and Noodles
Made for dinner last night and it was so good my husband went back for a second and a third. We also had enough left over for lunch today. I boiled and shredded 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts and mixed in dress pepper with the other seasonings. I let it simmer for 45 minutes rather than the 20-30 minutes, and I truly believe that made it as good as it was. I served on top of red akin mashed potatoes. Will definitely make again.

Baked Ziti with Sausage
Just made it tonight. Followed the recipe exactly and it was delicious. The ricotta cheese makes it extra creamy. I will definitely make this again.
