My husband and I have been married sixty-one years. We have seven children, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. I will be eighty years old in January. You can imagine all the cooking I have done.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts. I'm so glad to have found allrecipies because I've tried many of their desserts. This will be the second Halloween for the witches' fingers. The neighborhood kids love them.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Easter when the family was young I would make a yeast roll that was dipped in melted butter and then rolled in cinnamon and sugar. This started in the '50s and most of our daughters have continued this tradition for their families.
My cooking tragedies
The first year we were married I offered to make the pumpkin pies for my in-laws' Thanksgiving dinner. They were sooooo polite that not one of them said a word about it. Then I tasted it and realized that I forgot to put in the sugar. Ugh!! Disaster!!
