Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
I was really hoping this would be great, given all the great reviews, but I found it to be horribly bland. I tried adding salt, pepper, garlic, and paprika, but it was still bland.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
I've made these several times now, and I've got it mastered! Here are my tips: 1) Use a blender or food processor to get your cookies really fine. It keeps them from crumbling in the chocolate. 2) As soon as you've mixed in the cream cheese, make the balls and put them in the freezer for 30-45 minutes. 3) Use a fondue pot for your chocolate! It keeps the chocolate at the PERFECT temperature without ever having to worry about it burning or having to constantly stir it. 4) The mint oreos are AMAZING! My favorite variety. Don't use double-stuff, yuck! I also tried Nutter Butters, but they weren't as good as expected. They lost the peanut buttery flavor, so if I tried those again I would reduce cream cheese and add some Jif. Good luck!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2011
I am kind of shocked by the complaints about this being bland! It is SOOO flavorful! I double the sauce to start with, include red potatoes and definitely cook it for 8 hours on low. I do start with a frozen pork loin, and towards the end I used a baster to douse the pork several times. (Not normally needed in a slower cooker, but it "colored" the pork so it wasn't so pale.) I like the thin sauce when I use potatoes and broccoli as sides. If I use egg noodles and peas, I thicken the sauce with corn starch at the end and it makes an awesome gravy. We love it, and eat this at least once a month.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I made these for our dinner last night--amazing! It was a hit across the board with all our Thanksgiving guests! I used the chive and onion cream cheese, mixed in freshly shredded parmesan cheese, fresh chives, and oregano, and then laid a towel under the crock pot lid to collect the extra moisture. When time to serve, I beat them once more and topped with a few more chives and fresh parmesan for looks. Enjoy!

German Pancake

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
This recipe is wonderful! The second time around I made a few changes--spray the pan first with some light cooking spray, then add butter and batter. Also, make syrup in a large pan because it easily boils over even on low settings. The combination is fabulous--my husband and I can eat the whole pan! What a way to start the day!

Sweet Potato Latkes

Wow! The smell in the house was amazing, it made me so excited to eat them! They were almost as good as they smelled, just needed a little something more. I wished they were a bit crispier.

Loved it with the addition of red bell peppers! Very filling, so pay attention to the fact that the recipe listed here is for 10 servings.

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
It's a fabulous start, but it needed a little more flavor. Second time around, I added another clove of garlic, a little bit of salt, and sun-dried tomatoes. I also marinated the chicken in Italian dressing before using it in this recipe, and it added a great flavor. Much better!
