Unbelievably simple. Got rave (and I mean RAVE) reviews for these. I almost didn't want to admit how easy they were to make! These will be a regular holiday treat in our house.

This was pretty good but I'm not sure I'd call it chili. Added another can of beans and used homemade tomatillo salsa. Also used homemade chicken stock. Hard to go wrong with any soup recipe when you use your own stock. Might make again. My husband liked it.

Baked Shrimp with Feta and Tomato

Wasn't really sure about this recipe but decided to try it. I'm not a big vermouth fan but I'm tired of the same old grilled shrimp and was looking for something totally different. Very, very good! I only cooked the shrimp about 3 minutes in the pan so the shrimp wouldn't be overdone. I doubled the garlic and used fresh herbs. This will be a regular in our house from now on.

Zucchini Risotto

Good recipe. I did not add the sun-dried tomatoes and I used basil instead of thyme. I also cubed the zucchini and gave it a quick stir-fry before adding it to the risotto. Served with grilled shrimp. Quite tasty.

Mexican Lasagna

I was against my better judgment to even try this recipe but I was trying to use up items in my pantry/fridge. I can see how kids might like it but you have even a mild love of pasta this is not the dish for you. Reminds me of something my mom would have served our family in the 80s. She was big on "casseroles". Really just not good.

Almond-Crusted Tilapia

Very good. I'd give it 4.5 if I could (I save 5 for truly exceptional recipes). I baked it and it was perfect. Husband asked for it to go into the regular rotation. Next time I will fry it just to taste the difference but I thought baked was delicious.

Best Hot Crab Dip

Very good recipe. I come back to this year after year. I looked at my original copy and it was printed in 2003. Use only real crab meat. Canned doesn't do this recipe justice. I don't do the bread bowl - just serve with a variety of crackers and baguette slices. I add a bit more Old Bay (I'm in Maryland - I have to!), only about 1/4 cup of the capers. Also add a bit of crushed red pepper. Recipe is a bit expensive but worth the cost for special events/parties. (I only give 5 stars for truly exceptional recipes - I'd give this 4 1/2 if I could).

Oven Fried Party Drummettes

Very tasty and pretty easy too. I used the bread crumbs as mentioned below and they were nice and crispy - and the Italian dressing mix since I had it on hand. I did give them a few minutes under the broiler before serving to add some extra crispness - but not necessary really. Also, I used canola oil instead of butter and that worked great. My hubby is already asking when I'm making them again. Probably this weekend!

Eggnog Cheesecake III

Great recipe. I used the Amazingly Good Eggnog recipe on this site for the eggnog and it was delicious. Great recipe. Only change I made was to add a bit of cinnamon to the crust.

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes

I was really excited to make these but they really didn't taste that great. I typically do a similar recipe with lots of herbs and onion and green pepper. I was looking for a change and tried this. I found the balsamic to be overpowering and detracted from the flavor of the herbs. I won't use this again - I'll do the standard herb roasted potatoes.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

I don't give many five star reviews but this deserves it. The BEST eggnog ever! I've made it with rum and rum extract (when we had non-drinkers over) and both were great. I also used this to make eggnog cheesecake and that was delicious as well. Yum!
