Hi Everyone! It's getting close to turkey day and unfortunately, I am the only one in the house that likes turkey (insert sigh here) . . . So I'm curious about what types of dishes other people create for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's meals so maybe I can poach some of your ideas… MORE

About this Cook
I enjoy cooking good and healthy food and really love using the fresh vegetables from our little garden. Cooking is something that our family does together-from the smallest to the tallest.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking cookies, cakes and other desserts and try to make them a little healthier or should I say a little less unhealthy. I like the challenge of cooking healthy things that the kids still love to eat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Since my fiance is currently working and trying to go to school, what little time we get to spend together is usually spent in the kitchen. I just loving making delicious meals with him.
My cooking triumphs
Making homeade tortillas that are as good or better than my fiance's mother makes and hers are GOOD!
My cooking tragedies
I have several unsuccessful creations; however, my first major failure was making chocolate chip cookies with my brother when I was 9 and they ended up being deemed "chocolate chip flakes" by my stepfather, but all was not lost, they still tasted decent.

Sweet Dinner Rolls
These are fabulous! My family loved them and they totally remind me of the crescent rolls my Grandma Rose used to make.

Cinnamon Rolls I
These were just not the rich gooey cinnamon rolls that I normally make. My ex-husband got all my favorite recipe books (not like he cooks either) and I couldn't find my normal recipe and I made these for Christmas morning. The kids and my fiance enjoyed them, but they're not especially picky (at least about sweets). I think they could do with more rising time before you put it all together. It was worth a try, but I'm still on the lookout for the perfect cinnamon roll recipe.

White Chocolate Pound Cake
This is a great pound cake. . . a very subtle white chocolate flavor . . . I liked it a lot, but if you really want big white chocolate flavor, then I would reduce the sugar and increase the amount of white chocolate you melt into it . . . otherwise it is great as is . . . I chose not to frost it, but to top it with fresh strawberries and raspberries from my garden.
