Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2012
Love these! I used parchment paper lined pans to prevent sticking.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
I made this for breakfast and it was SO good and easy enough that I didn't mind putting it together when I rolled out of bed. A great way to use up leftover bread. Thanks for the great recipe!

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
These were really easy to make. I found them a bit bland, but really, it's a biscuit so I didn't mind. They were nice and moist and I will gladly make them again.

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Wow. We were eating these as fast as I could fry them! I did as other reviewers suggested and mixed the flour in a zipper bag then added the egg/milk to that, then the onions and squished them around to coat. I let each one drip off briefly on the way into the breadcrumb, which I put in a container. Shook the whole works gently and then put them right into the hot oil. I don't have a deep fryer but a sturdy pot with a candy thermometer did the trick (I used canola oil). These were out-of-control good.

Amy's Barbecue Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2011
Yum! This was a great salad. I left out the cilantro and French fried onions. I used 1/4 cup of ranch dressing and 1/4 cup of barbecue sauce and kept the same amount of other ingredients to serve 2 people.

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
These muffins were so easy and so good - better than any bran muffin I've ever eaten! I used 1% milk with 1tbsp. lemon juice in place of the buttermilk and filled the muffin cups up to the top so they would have nice tall peaks. I'll be making these again soon I'm sure!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
What a great recipe! I made 2 loaves' worth, one which I refrigerated overnight to slow down the rising and the other which I turned into bread bowls for soup. This was my first attempt making a loaf of bread and I was thrilled with the results! Even with the overnight refrigerating it rose nicely and had a nice texture. The bread bowls were also delicious and tender. I will definitely be making this again, and I'm sure it will be even better if I bake it right away. Thanks for showing me how simple baking your own bread can be, I'm thrilled!!

Corn Bread Loaf

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
This was very easy to make and turned out nice and moist. It was the perfect amount for 2 people. Like some other reviewers, I used oil (sunflower) instead of melted shortening. I'll be making this again for sure!

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
I oiled my pan well with olive oil and the crust stuck so badly the pieces were all shredded. Despite cutting the salt in half, it was also still too salty, and it was well-done after just 20 minutes. I will not be making this again. I am so disappointed and frustrated with my ruined meal.

Chocolate Frozen Yogurt

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
Love love love! I added a tablespoon of cocoa powder, following other reviewers. I also used vanilla yogurt and omitted the vanilla extract. I also didn't have an ice cream maker so I froze it in a metal bowl, whisking it every 45 minutes or so until it was the consistency of soft serve, then I just let it freeze. I'll make this again for sure!

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
These were very good! Surprisingly moist. I will definitely make them again! I didn't have parsley so I omitted it. I also used plain breadcrumbs. I usually make beef burgers so I was surprised at how little these shrunk in comparison. Great recipe!

Cheddar-Thyme Flaky Biscuits

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
These were soooo good. I didn't have thyme so I just used cheddar and they were still delicious. Letting the dough sit for a while extra (15 minutes) made them rise a bit more and look more biscuit-y.

Caramel Apple Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
I brought this to a dinner party with granny smith and macintosh apples, bananas and bosc pears for dipping. It was a big hit! I used Werthers soft caramels because that was all my store had, and added about 5 extra. I softened the cream cheese first, but there were still some little lumps when I mixed everything together. A minute in the microwave and some stirring fixed that. Great recipe!
