About this Cook
I love food! Everything about it I enjoy. Shopping for food, preparing food, cooking/baking food, EATING food and even cleaning up! It is all part of food and it's great.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking sweet things (i.e. cookies) quite a bit. However I have found a new passion for making up my own recipes for entrees. Generally I will browse recipes online, get ideas and then make up my own thing
My cooking triumphs
Recently I have been using a cookbook by Manisha Kanani called Great Curries and there are some rockin' recipes in there.
My cooking tragedies
There is a cookie recipe on this site called Sunflower Drop Cookies; stay away! They are a waste of time and ingredients :-(

Sesame Broccoli Salad
I toasted the sesame seeds in a cast iron skillet on the stove top. I was also making a beet salad so I decided to add the beet greens (lightly sauteed in sesame oil) to this broccoli dish. Lastly I reduced the sugar to only a pinch. The result was quite tasty.

Crazy Cake
I just made this and it turned out Really tasty. I even messed it up and I think it made it better too :-) I forgot to add the sugar and didn't realize this mistake until after I had put it in the pan (I licked the spoon and it didn't taste sweet at all). So I put about a cup powdered sugar on top then folded it in, though not too thoroughly because I didn't want to over mix the batter. The end result it yummy.

Radish Dip
I think this would have worked better if I had mixed in the cream cheese by hand instead of using the food processor. It was more like a liquid than a dip. Also could have used more radish to the amount of garlic in it.
