My cooking tragedies
When I was about 14 I attempted to bake a cake like my Mother did, without measuring anything. Hers always came out great. After being in the oven for almost 2 1/2 hours, I admitted that I hade to discard my chocolate "soup" cake. It refused to bake. I measured everything thereafter until I grew older and learned how to "guess-ti-mate". However, baking is a precise technique, whereas cooking can be hit or miss.
