I love to eat as much as I cook. I enjoy trying new things any chance I get. I like experimenting with different ingredients and if I can add some spice...then it's a done deal. :)
My favorite things to cook
Korean food - namely, chigaes (stews), side items (bahnchahn), short ribs, pork ribs and pork belly, soups. I love pasta, BBQ and Mexican. I am not very good at stir frying (Chinese style) or baking. Need to work on improving my skills.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother makes kimchi from scratch.....always different kinds and it's the absolute best. We're always utilizing what we have on hand and try not waste. My parents eat Korean food on a daily basis, but appreciate food of all sorts, from different regions. My family loves a good steak, BBQ, burgers, pasta, chowders...you name it, we love it!
My cooking triumphs
I dont really any triumphs per say. I can make a mean chicken salad and Korean food. Family and friends seem to love my food....and that works for me :)
My cooking tragedies
I can't do stir fry very well and I can't bake. Boo hoo :(
