Butter Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
First time I ever got dough through a cookie press so that's why I gave this two stars, however, I did not care for the texture of this recipe at all. It didn't melt in the mouth like I remember butter/spritz cookies is suppose to. I think it's the cream cheese. Will be trying another recipe that doesn't call for cream cheese.

Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
I gave it 5 stars even though I modified original recipe by using chicken broth instead of water and just one smoked ham shank instead of the ham bone/diced ham because it turned out just absolutely fantastic! I did use immersion blender slightly to thicken soup up. Really really yummy on a cold night. Used bread to wipe bowl clean yummy.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
Wonderful tasting cookies. Especially good warm out of oven. Used double amount of pumpkin pie spice and cloves. Another reviewer was correct in that due to moisture content, cookies would get soggy and damp if kept in closed container.

Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
As others have stated, this is one of the best recipes around. You can vary it in so many different ways depending on what you have on hand and yet it still comes out wonderful. My kids love this dish with rice. I keep ziplock bags of the flour mixture in my freezer and do not dip chicken in egg to save time. I typically use chicken tenderloins because they're tender and conveniently sized pieces.

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
I used chicken thighs and was browning them when I was reminded that I had an appointment to keep so I put the chicken in a crockpot, mixed the sauce ingredient in a bowl (upped wine to 1 1/2 cups with same 1 cup brown sugar + extra crushed garlic), poured it in and set the crockpot on high. I came home 2 hrs later, spooned the chicken out, stirred a roux into the liquid, and mixed chicken back into the pot after sauce thickened up. It was absolutely delicious. I brought some into work for lunch the next day and a friend of mine wanted to trade lunch.
