I adapted a favorite family recipe (hot chicken salad) to a vegetarian version -- and my mom even approved!
My cooking triumphs
I am known as a good baker at work because I love cookies, brownies, etc. But if I make them, I eat them -- unless I take them to work.
My cooking tragedies
I made a quiche for Easter -- the recipe didn't say to add tomatoes (I had made it without tomatoes and it was great). I added tomatoes. Bad idea -- and I had to serve it to company. :(

Spicy Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce
I omitted the ginger (don't care for it), used vegetarian mushroom oyster sauce (to make it vegetarian), and used Sriracha instead of the red pepper flakes. Wonderful!

Vegan Fajitas
Added a little garlic to the marinade and it was pretty good, though I might use less vinegar next time. I also used mushrooms and omitted the black beans and corn. If you're not vegan, a little sour cream and cheese sets these off perfectly!

Never Fail Pie Crust II
I didn't have butter flavored shortening so used 1 cup crisco and 1 cup butter. I had to add some extra flour, I think because of the butter. I thought I was going to make it tough because I kept having to work more flour in, but it melts in your mouth!
