I have made this many times, and it is always yummy. Every time I make it I try something new. I personally like eye of round roasts best in this dish, because I can slice it rather than shred it. Italian beef in Chicago and the burbs is sliced, not shredded. Try using fresh garlic instead of powder, and adding peppers the last hour. I do use beef broth instead of water, but I never use 2 packets of the italian seasoning. I think it would be way too salty.
