Easy Pork Roast

Really not sure what all the fuss is - followed the recipe and it was like onion stew - too much just same flavors - garlic, onion, shallots. Would not make again.

Cabbage Patch Stew

YUM! Used meatloaf mix as that was on hand and replaced the water with beef broth followed the rest of the ingredients on the recipe. I served it with Yukon Gold Mashed and it was awesome. Real comfort food. I browned the meat and onions, added the rest of the ingredients and cooked it in a tight lidded cast iron dutch oven for about 4 hours at 325 degrees. Flavors were melded well and the cabbage was very wilted but still flavorful. This would work for any family night dinner. COMFORT FOOD at it's best.

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

My husband and I both enjoyed this "soup free" version of Tuna Casserole. I stuck to the basic recipe except did 1 1/2 times the bechamel sauce and added more cheese to the sauce - about a cup on in the sauce and a cup on top with the breadcrumbs (used Panko). I sauteed the onions, celery and mushrooms - once wonderfully carmelized a bit I added a package of uncooked frozen peas in butter sauce and a half jar of pimento for color. For the bechamel I used 1 cup of chicken broth and 2 cups of milk to add up to the total liquid. I also added a bit of thyme, parsley and dried mustard - about 1/2 teaspoon of each. YUMMM! This is a great basic recipe and it was really easy to match to play with a few more flavors to make it your own. No more soup for me!!!!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Made the Deb's Chili for dinner this evening and my husband rated it 5 Stars! he said he liked it as much as my favorite chili which he has loved since we got married. I made it exactly as the recipe calls for which is something I never do as I love to experiment but in this case I found the recipe so simple and straightforward that I had to see if it was good 'as is' and it was. I used the middle of the road spiciness in the Pace Sauce and was happy with that. If you are a "heat" lover this will be too mild for you but the best part is how easily it cam be made spicier in the same number of steps. Enjoy!

Grilled Lemon Herb Pork Chops

I used this recipe on boneless chicken breasts - marinated for about an hour and WOW. They were so tender - the difference was incredible. I made some plain at the same time and we were almost crying at how much better the marinated breast were ... we will be trying this recipe with Pork Chops this week!
