About this Cook
I learned to cook by much trial and error. I was 8 years old when my mother passed. Within days, I was in the kitchen cooking away!
My favorite things to cook
As of late, I enjoy making my own recipes using random ingredients. I am having a great time learning to decorate cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm from northern Louisiana where the food is a little cajun and a lot down home! I enjoy making recipes from home for my friends here in the Pacific Northwest.
My cooking triumphs
I had to "relearn" to cook after realizing that my traditional methods are in no way health friendly :) Who knew everything good isn't breaded and fried?
My cooking tragedies
I'll just say this, you can always add salt, but you can't take it away...

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust
Five Stars! Don't change a thing. This crust is easy to make and roll out. It turns out light and just crispy enough to make each bite interesting. Mmmm Mmmm good! Thank you, Ruth, your Grandma AND Barbara!

Spiced Banana Bread
5 Stars! This is my new banana bread recipe. I made 15 batches last weekend to give away. I am not the biggest clove fan, so will omit it in the future. Also, used brown sugar instead of white as a personal preference. Easy, moist and yummy!

Grilled Pork Tenderloin
This was SOOOOOO Good....Couldn't keep my grill at a consistent 350. So I cooked it about 35-37 minutes before the sauce....Kids loved it too. I'm going to slice it tomorrow and put it out on the table with Hot Mustard, barbecue, and sesame seeds...
