Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2013
Great recipe. I've made these about 50 times and always slightly "tweak" the recipe. Like other reviewers have suggested, I always use a whole egg instead of the two whites. I also add about a teaspoon of worcheshire sauce and about a teaspoon of soy sauce. Finally, to keep the patties from sticking to the grill, I pour flour in a shallow bowl and coat the patties before grilling. This keeps the burgers from sticking. We prefer these burgers to beef burgers - they're that good.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
I only use this taco seasoning recipe and haven't bought it from the grocery store in years. I don't change the ingredients, but use ground turkey (three pounds 93% lean) and double the taco seasoning recipe. That a good meat to seasoning ratio. After I brown the turkey, I drain off the fat, add about one and a half cups of water, add the double taco seasoning, and about a tablespoon of Kitchen Bouquet. Kitchen Bouquet doesn't add flavor, but does make the turkey meat browner in color, similar to browned ground beef. I let the turkey simmer on low, uncovered, stirring every few minutes to make sure all of the turkey cooks in the water and spice. I simmer until almost all of the water has evaporated. Then it's ready for fantastic tacos - and the best part is that no one will know that it's not ground beef and it's healthier for you and your family. Thanks Bill for the great recipe!

Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
I've made this great recipe abut 10 times. Here's how to make it even better with fewer calories and easier to make: Stir together in one small bowl: 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/4 cup splenda (or sugar if you don't have splenda), 1/4 cup water and as much dill as you'd like (I prefer about 3 tablespoons to give it a strong dill flavor). Do not heat and set aside liquid. Peel two large cucumbers leaving some of the green skin on the cucumbers for color. Slice cucumbers thinly. Put cucumbers in sealable plastic baggie. Thinly slice one large red onion (again for color) and mix with your hand with the sliced cucumbers. Pour liquid in baggie over cucumbers and onion and seal baggie. Put in frig to cool and marinade. Excellent refreshing salad with almost no calories.
