Slow Cooker Chili II

I have to agree with the other reviewers who say this is very bland, which is why I gave it three stars. It's a good base or recipe if you aren't into spicy.

My husband liked this. The filling was great. However, I would look elsewhere for the pasta dough. It was too difficult to work with.

BBQ Pie

This was surprisingly good. I had my doubts, but I needed to use my ground beef. Both my husband and I liked how this tasted. It gets points because it was so EASY. It went together in 15 minutes and the time in the oven allowed me to get my sides together.

Coconut Curry Tofu

Excellent. Without realizing it, this was almost an exact replication of a dish we love at our local Thai/fusion restaurant. It was very good. I ended up substituting spinach for bok choy. It was good, but I think you could also just leave it out and serve over rice, like our restaurant does.

Sourdough Bread I

I experienced the same thing as a couple others. The dough didn't rise after kneading. I thought the taste was great, but it was dense and slightly undercooked in the middle. I would give my own loaf 3 stars, but I have to give the recipe the benefit of the doubt. I'll try a couple other recipes before I come back to this.

Chicken Wings Pacifica

These were really good. I was slightly traumatized by the disjointing process, so I may not be judging these clearly. My husband thought they were good. I only had time to marinate them for 30 minutes, but after that, I rubbed the wings with minced garlic cloves, salt, and pepper, so they weren't bland at all.

Caribbean Coconut Chicken

The overall dish was good, but I couldn't get the sauce where I liked it. It was a little too bland. Maybe that was because I used light coconut milk.

Amish Friendship Bread Starter

I have just started baking with mine and am so pleased. I've made some cinnamon bread and have sourdough rising in the kitchen now. The only sad thing is I won't be able to keep it up over the holidays... too much traveling.

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

This was my first time making tortillas, and they turned out very good despite one of my evil burners going haywire on me. I substituted olive oil and used half all purpose flour and half wheat flour. I found I had to add a lot more water in to get the dough to become doughy, though. I would try these again... perhaps with a better stovetop!

Spanish Rice II

This is the second recipe I've used to make Spanish Rice and it is good! I'd agree with putting some jalapenos in with the onion and bell pepper, but it was good without it too. I might try some other recipes, but this is definitely a good one.
