Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
First of all...no eggs means this is a cookie dough thats safe to eat!!! These are great cookies. I have made them twice now and planned to make them a regular thing. I love the chocolate chips and raisins together. If you are looking for a spicy oatmeal cookie this isn't it. If you are looking for a yummy treat...this IS it.

My Country Style Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
My family loved this!! The meat turned out super super tender. The gravy was great on mashed potatoes. Very easy to make too. I served with mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, and steamed broccoli. This will definately get made around here again.

Evie's Ranch Nuggets

I am searching for a good recipe for chicken nuggets and this is so not it! Very tasteless breading. Not worth the effort.

Beef Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
Great recipe for a chilly day. I didn't add any bullion and just salted the soup to taste instead. My children loved this.

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I was looking for a Tuna Cassarole recipe that didn't call for the prepared "cream of" soups. My kids really enjoyed this and ate several helpings each. Next time I think I will make a little more of the roux because it was just a little dry since I added the whole package of noodles which was a little more than called for. I left out the mushrooms because my kids don't really enjoy them. Maybe just a little bland but still good and enjoyed by my family.

Terrific Turkey Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I am trying to find the perfect turkey meatloaf. This was pretty good but not exceptional. I would make it again while I search for that perfect recipe. I did add ketchup to the top while baking because my family likes meatloaf that way and I didn't want the top to turn out dry.

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I really like pork and my husband does not really care for it. So i am always trying to find recipes for pork to win him over on it. These were very good. My husband said "for pork I'd give it five stars but if you are comparing it to steak I'd go about 3 stars". So thats about as good as you can get from him. I used garlic powder instead of garlic salt because I figured my Ritz crackers had enough salt. Easy to prepare and my whole house enjoyed eating them.

Honey Oat Beer Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
My children LOVE beer bread. The advantage of this recipe over some other is that this has oatmeal in it...so its a little more healthier. I have bought the packaged beer breads at various home parties before and they still are better than any of the non packaged recipes I have tried...but this is still good.

Mandarin Orange Breakfast Bites

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
Well these didn't taste at all like donuts to me. But they weren't bad as a muffin. They were not sweet at all making them good at breakfast time. The batter is not typical muffin batter. Before adding the oranges it was a very stiff ball like dough. adding the oranges it was sticky but not pourable like typical muffin batter. I had to reread the ingredients to make sure I didn't forget anything. Definately not my favorite recipe. Would I make them again....probably not.

Tammy's Favorite Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
this was a great lasagna. The white sauce sets it apart from others and makes it creamy and delicious. I used a pound of ground turkey (I always use this instead of red meat) and a pound of italian turkey sausage. I think the red sauce would be a little bland without some sausage. I didn't realize I was out of eggs so I left it out of the white sauce and it was still fine, not missed. My family loved this. The kids ate it right up. I will make this my new standard recipe.

No Bake Bumpy Peanut Butter Nuggets

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
i thought they were too strongly appley sweet. not loved by the kids, either. actually a handful sat around for so long i threw them out...not something that happens around here often. i really wanted to like them since they would be a healthy kid snack option...but it just didn't happen.

Vegetarian Cottage Cheese Patties

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
this was pretty good. not amazingly great but good. my kids all ate them without complaint. i baked them as another member suggested and they hald their shape well. i questioned not diluting the soup and next time will definately add about 1/2 can of milk to it to make it more like gravy and less like thick goop on top! next time i think i will add green onions on top after baking.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
i cut the sugar down to about 1/2 that was called for and it was still very sweet. definately would not use the whole amount. my dressing was quite runny too. i added extra macaroni and it was still a bit runny. i also added a few hard boiled eggs. the taste was pretty good. sweet and tangy.

Olympic Gold Medal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
although the taste was ok, but nothing super impressive, my family likes soft chewy sort cookies better. These bake to very thin and very crispy. My kids did eat them but my husband would not. I won't make these again.
