Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
I added diced ham to make a meal out of these potatoes and it was pretty good. Next time, I will make this in a bigger dish than the recipe says. I had a big problem with the sauce running over in the oven!

Spinach Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
I thought this recipe was very good. I followed the directions pretty much exactly but I only used half of the spinach and it was just the right amount for us. Any more than that would have been overpowering! Also, I did end up with quite a bit of sauce and didn't use all of it.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
It's not very often that I prefer something out of a box rather than homemade but brownies are usually the exception. This recipe, however, is juat as moist and chewy as any boxed brownie-not dry and crumbly like other homemade brownies I've tried. I did not make the frosting that went with this recipe and we still finished off the whole pan in one evening! A wonderful brownie recipe!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
Like many other reviewers, I too thought the hot sauce was WAY too strong. I used an entire packet of ranch mix and also cut back on the amount of sauce and these sandwiches were still dripping with hot sauce. It was really all you tatsed. For people who just love hot sauce, this is probably a good recipe, but for my family, it was just way too much. I would have liked to taste some other flavor in there...

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
I thought this was a good soup. Tasty and healthy! After awhile I thought the lentils were a little over-powering, so I may try cutting those back a little next time and adding some barley too.

Elaine's Sweet and Tangy Loose Beef BBQ

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
I thought this recipe was good, but like many others, I too had to cook this much longer before I could shred the meat-about 5 hours. Also, I cut back on the amount of ketchup and added a little more brown sugar as many suggested. It ended up tasting a lot like my mom's recipe. I'm sure I will be making this again.

Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I loved this recipe just as it is, it is very easy to make and tastes great. Instead of regular sized pepperoni, I found mini sized ones at our grocery store and they were perfect for this dish. I made this for my husband and I and there were hardly any left overs! If you're making this for a larger group or just want some left over for another meal, I would suggest doubling this recipe as I'm going to next time. Definitely a keeper!

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
This recipe was very easy and very delicious! It makes a lot so I took some to work and had cinnamon grahams for dipping. Everyone loved it and wanted a copy of the recipe. It tastes just like pumpkin pie. I would suggest trying to find the cinnamon graham STICKS but regular works fine too.

Apple Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
I thought this recipe was good. It tastes just like apple cake to me. The only thing I don't like is that it falls apart when you try to take a piece out of the pan. I may have used bigger apples than I should have and ended up with too much. ? But otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and it's good.

Ranger Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
I made this recipe exactly as directed and it was WAY too dry. I couldn't even pack the dough into balls by hand. I added a half cup of milk and that made the dough easier to work with. Once they were baked, I really didn't think they were all that great (they tasted like a plain oatmeal cookies with very little flavor). If I were to make these again, I would definitely cut back on the flour and maybe add something else like peanut butter or cinnamon like others suggested.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
I made this recipe exactly as it was written and these muffins are delicious! My husband said that they are quite possibly the best he's ever had! I may experiment with adding some spice to the muffin batter next time but they are still good just the way they are!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2009
This is definitely a delicious pie. On my second time around I simply added a half teaspoon of cinnamon and it was absolutely perfect! I got raving reviews and my mother (who is known as the best cook/baker in our family) said it was better than hers!

Favorite Banana Blueberry Quick Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I thought this was a pretty tasty recipe-the blueberries add a nice change to regular banana bread. I made a few small changes and simplified the directions and it turned out great. First I mixed all the dry ingredients (flour, oats, soda, and salt) and set aside. Then I creamed the shortening, sugar, and eggs and added the banana. I added the flour mixture next and after that was blended well, I gently folded the blueberries in with a wooden spoon. (I didn't really see the point in coating the berries with flour first?) The only other change I made was that I used a whole cup of blueberries instead of a half. It turned out great!

Strawnana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
I made a few changes to this recipe when I made it. First, I did not have an orange so I used lemon zest instead. Also, I didn't think cinnamon and nutmeg would go well with strawberries so I left those out as well. Everything else I kept the same and I really couldn't taste the strawberries at all. It really just tasted like banana bread to me. If I make it again, maybe I'll use less banana and a little more strawberry instead.

Blueberry Lemon Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
I followed this recipe exactly except I did not add the glaze. It was pretty good but not fantastic. For as much work as it was I don't think it was good enough to make very often but it was okay.

This was a good frittata. The bacon made it a little greasy but it had a nice flavor.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
We thought this was very good. I didn't have raspberry jam so I used strawberry preserves and it turned out great. You could substitute just about any kind of preserves or jam with this recipe and I think it would always turn out great!
