Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
trying to cut calories, i cut the meat in half and doubled the carrots, added 2 chopped tomatoes, cut the butter, and probably used about 1/2 cup wine. you can add/subtract anything really, this recipe is foolproof!

Very easy to do and tasted good. i added broccoli, cooked from frozen beforehand, and cooked it maybe 5 minutes extra.

Plum Blueberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
this recipe was great! it was very pretty and the best when it was still warm from the oven. i had to cook it a bit longer, it was a bit tricky to make sure the toothpick was clean in the center with the blueberries. i will make this again when i have guests to impress.

Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
there was a lot going on in the curry. this was the first indian dish i attempted at home; i thought the dish was pretty easy to make and tasted pretty good. i will make it again and cook it on a different burner for less heat and probably skip the pepper at the end.

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
this turned out really well, i even prefer this method to the usual boiling water method even though it requires more attention. i had no problem browning/puffing the rice.

Garlic-Buttered Green Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
wow! used fresh beans and garlic, also added a little bit of chopped onion and chopped nuts to the pan and more mushrooms than called for to use up what i had. normally, i don't even like green beans, but me and my husband both loved this one and will make it again for sure!

Strawberry Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Very easy and quick, delicious. came right out of the nonstick muffin pan and i was glad not to use baking cups. these are definitely worth dirtying 3 bowls in preparation. the second time i made them with canned pears also awesome.

Cookies for Rookies

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
quick, easy cookie. i chose this one because it used different ingredients than the usual chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies i bake, and i was glad to mix it up. The cookies are pretty light and taste good. On the first pan I forgot to flatten them, and they stayed in ball shape.

Apple Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
The recipe has a lot of potential but only turned out so-so. The dish retained strong flavor from the apples and the white wine, so i'm going to have to work out a combination of those two that we like better before I can try this again.

Leg of Lamb with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
This was excellent. I used fresh raspberries and rosemary and also added a little corn starch to thicken. We used the left over sauce to marinate and serve with lamb steaks which was also very good.

Cheesy Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
This recipe was ok. I took the suggestions to add in a couple more things. However, following the recipe my rice was undercooked and brought the meal down a bit. Next time i will cook the rice and veggies separate and also skip the oil for the chicken.

Chicken a la Creme

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
This was GREAT. it was very easy to prepare. I also added in garlic and onion and think that next time i will add more spices. The sauce was thin, but still delicious and made the right amount to finish with the chicken and bread. I will definitely make this again.

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
i did not measure too closely and had some trouble with my oven but the bread still turned out very well. I like it much better than the last store-bought soda bread i had and feel confidant that it will turn out even better next time i make it.
