Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
Perfect! Excellent texture and peanutty flavor. I used smooth peanut butter (and a little more than recipe calls for). Also, since I had salted butter on hand, I simply omitted the salt. Added a bag of chocolate chips--yummy. Thanks for sharing this recipe. It's a keeper.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
Delicious. My Italian family loved it. For the reviewer who said the meatballs were hard and dry--did you use fresh breadcrumbs as stated in recipe. You CANNOT substitute dry, canned breadcrumbs. The sauce was very good ( I used about 1/2 the salt). Next time I think I'll add some sweet Italian sausage for extra flavor. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies III

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
This recipe is perfect as written. I have made it many times, but this last time I decided to take other reviewers' recommendation to substitute 1/2 the butter with shortening. This is a mistake-it throws off the flavor and texture. Will stick with original recipe from now on.

Pumpkin Bread IV

I keep making, and it keeps disappearing. Even hiding a loaf or two in the freezer won't keep my kids from devouring this. So moist and soft and full of flavor. Thanks for sharing such a yummy recipe.

The best! My daughter made this tonight and it was so good. She did reduce the sugar to 1/2 cup (personal preference). This recipe is moist and flavorful. Perfect with chili. Thanks for sharing.

Lemon Meringue Pie III

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
The best!! The filling set up beautifully-perfect texture, not all all runny or too stiff. Plenty of meringue, too. I did cut down the sugar by 1/4 cup because we like a tart lemon pie and it was perfect.

Sour Cream Pound Cake

I made this in a 9x5 loaf pan (recipe says 8x4)and it came out perfectly. Lovely texture and rich flavor. Not as buttery as my usual recipe but perfect for the strawberry trifle I used it for. Definite keeper. Thanks for sharing.

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
Have been using Brooke's Bombshell Brownies, but found the top "crust" too thick and hard. So gave these a try...EXCELLENT!! Just the right amount of sweetness, but I did increase the cocoa to 2/3 cup and next time I will decrease the flour a little. This is a definite keeper recipes.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
This has been my favorite yellow cake recipe since I found it. But, today I used cake flour instead of all purpose. WOW!! It raised more than usual and turned out lighter and fluffier than ever. Still the best. And no, it does not taste like cornbread at all. My 15 year old and I make this cake so much, I had to post again. This is the ONLY yellow cake recipe we use. It's sweet, flavorful, light and fluffy. Perfect basic cake for anything. As I posted in an earlier review--thoroughly creaming the butter/shortening (I use 50/50) and sugar is essential to get the right texture in the end. YUMMY!!

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
These are the BEST chocolate cookies. My daughter makes these so often, and they never last long. The recipe is perfect as written, no need to alter sugar--they are extremely chocolaty--dark, rich and chewy. We have made them with many different types of chips--milk chocolate, peanut butter, chocolate mint (not at the same time of course) and have never been disappointed. Be sure to let cookies set a few mins on cookie sheet after they come out of oven before removing them--they come off much easier. Enjoy.
