I am in the middle of my degree to major in buisness managment and culinary arts. I hope to open a small hotel/restraunt some day. I am a wife and mother of 2 (7 yrs and 3 months).
My favorite things to cook
Chicken- it is very versatile. I love to use dried fruits and vegetables, it gives such a rich and potent flavor! I love to bake- but being a mother of 2 and in school I tend to resort to the boxes more often than I like, cooking from scratch is not something that can be done 100% of the time like my grandparents did, and THAT is unfortunate.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making homemade donuts as well as the whole continental breakfast spread once a month on the weekend. Tea parties are fun- but the older child doesn't enjoy cooking as much as she used to. It's mostly just me in the kitchen... for now.
My cooking triumphs
I have invented several dishes that have gotten great reviews. They will be kept undre lock and key until I open my restraunt, then they will be my signature dishes. Also, I did the Thanksgiving bird and main sides this last Turkey day- it was wonderful. It was a molasses and red wine glaze over the turkey and three different kinds of mashed potatoes! Yuuuum!
My cooking tragedies
The orange and apple butternut squash stuffing I made a few years back. I put too much butter and it made me gag! I'm too scared to try it again. Anytime I burn the cookies is a real tragedy in this house. :'(
