About this Cook
I am an attorney in Cincinnati and I commute from Lexington, KY every day, so by the time I get home, I'm exhausted! I love to cook to relax. I make a home cooked meal for my boyfriend and me each night. We love to cook together too.
My favorite things to cook
I make a mean chicken tikka masala. I also make a great mushroom and goat cheese appetizer. I like to cook anything savory using the freshest ingredients. We both like a lot of italian foods so I tend to incorporate a fair amount of garlic, olive oil, and fresh herbs into our meals. I don't love to bake, but I'm starting to incorporate more fresh breads into my routine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom started me in the kitchen when I was barely walking. She always made cooking so much fun and still teaches me new things all the time. Country cooking has always been my family's favorite, but we were always trying new things when I was a kid, as I still try to do today. I've greatly expanded my tastes over the past ten years, but still love my mom and grandma's food the most!
My cooking triumphs
Delicious authentic chicken tikka masala, a quicker, cheaper chicken tikka masala, stretching a family pack of boneless pork ribs into four separate and delicious meals, and my first Thanksgiving at my home, including a farm fresh brined basil butter turkey, a sweet potato souffle, and a homemade pumpkin pie using my own pumpkin puree, just to name a few dishes. We had 10 guests!!
My cooking tragedies
Forgot the flour in chocolate chip cookies the 1st time I made them for my boyfriend...oops. He ate the cookie flavored goo off the baking sheet with a smile.

Chicken Diablo
My boyfriend and I invited a friend over for dinner on "Diablo" night. While I really liked it, the men loved it! I marinated over night and baked in a casserole dish. I sliced and trimmed the chicken after cooking and baked in sauce for a bit longer. I made some homemade Mexican style rice and black beans and served with steamed flour tortillas. Don't forget the Corona!

Summery Ratatouille
WOW! Yum! This was delicious! I'm so full but I still want more! I added a little ground sage to the pork and used Ritz vegetable crackers, but other than that I stuck to the recipe. I never rate immediately after I eat, but this was so good I had to say so. Thanks for the recipe!

Rice, Asparagus and Cucumber Salad
I really liked this dish both hot and cold for lunch the following day. It is very pretty too! My significant other called it "pickle rice." I don't think that means he didn't like it...he still ate it!
