I'm 28, I have three children, ages 9, 4, 2, plus one on the way--all girls! I love to cook, I like trying out new things or manipulating a basic recipe to fit my family's tastes. I hope to one day be considered...someone people can come to for a few great recipes!
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE baking, which is probably bad, I'm going to turn into a cow or something! But really, I like cooking anything, I'm willing to try anything, and if it's good, I'll keep it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking with the girls...it's so much fun (and sooo messy!) to let the girls use their imagination and decorate cookies or mix batters...and they feel so proud, which makes me smile.
My cooking triumphs
Everyone (so far) likes my desserts. For the holidays, I almost always make cookies, fudge...I've done sweet breads too. I always get compliments on my desserts!
My cooking tragedies
I am half Puerto Rican...which means I should be able to speak a little Spanish, make flan, and cook rice...I can't cook rice! No matter how I try, it NEVER comes out right...it's either not cooked completely or it's sticky. Luckily, my husband likes sticky rice! Oh, and it ALWAYS boils over!! Grrr.

Italian Style Meatloaf I
LOVED it! This was SO good, I made it pretty much exactly as written and it came out fantastic!

Cream Cheese Squares
Love this! The first time I made it, I did a savory version (mixed in some veggie soup mix with the cream cheese and sprinkled herbs on top) which was fantastic! People couldn't stop talking about it and it's now "the thing" I have to bring to every function! :) I have the original version in the oven right now and judging by the flavor of the cream cheese mixture, they're going to be GREAT! Great recipe!

Petits Fours
The consistency of this cake was great...but I think it tastes like a sugar cookie. No real flavoring, just sugar. Maybe less sugar and some sort of extract?? I'm not sure. I will try it again, though, because I love how dense it is--perfect for cake decorating.
