Fig and Olive Tapenade

I made with both goat cheese and cream cheese. Everyone agreed that it was much better with the goat cheese. Next time I will candy the walnuts. Very good recipe, was a big hit at the party.

Flatlander Chili

This is THE chili recipe! It would be great as is, but I recommend a few modifications. Instead of the tomato juice I use tomato sauce and instead of the tomato sauce I use petite diced tomatoes as others have suggested. I also use a whole green pepper and add mined garlic (fresh or jarred). For a little spice, I add chopped smoked roasted green chilies and add more cayenne pepper then in the recipe. For the beans, I enjoy 1 can of dark kidney and 1 can of black.

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

I used 1/2 butter, 1/2 butter flavored Crisco. I also halved the recipe to frost 24 cupcakes and with piping a generous amount on each cupcake; I just had enough icing. This frosting is absolutely amazing with the modifications, although it was a modification for personal taste preference so a 5 star this one gets! Perhaps, I will try the original recipe for a more bakery time taste next time. Thanks for the recipe!

Guacamole

This is one of the best guacamole recipes I've ever had. I make this all the time and get rave reviews and requests for the recipe as often! The only modifications I perform are as follows: 1) for the onion, I use equal parts white and purple 2) I mix all ingredients the night before except the avacado and cayenne pepper. Even without the modifications, this is a 5+ star!
