Curried Butternut Squash and Pear Soup

The boyfriend loooved this. I had a friend who had recently made some butternut/pear/curry soup and so I decided to look one up. I followed the recipe without changes and I thought it was very tasty. It's hard to find butternut squash outside of thanksgiving season in Switzerland, but I'm sure I will make this again in the future!

Chris' Bay Area Burger

Tasted OK, but they lit up my grill in flames. Didn't stick together that well either, so even more parts of them were falling into the grill and lighting on fire. My husband was alarmed at how fiery they were! Will probably not make again. Used fresh basil instead of dried.

Egg Yolk Painted Christmas Cookies

The egg yolk icing was what I remember as a kid, but these cookies do not taste nearly as good as my mom's recipe. My husband complained that they are tasteless and bland... and I even tried adding in some cinnamon and nutmeg. Overall, the dough was a little hard to work with. It was crumbly and the cookies are very fragile even after baking. They just don't taste good. Do the egg yolk, but get yourself a good sugar cookie recipe. I need to call up my mother for mine!
