Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
I have made this bread three times and it is perfect! The bread is chewy and soft. It saves well in the freezer, tasting just as fresh with a room temperature defrost. My 80 year old father-in-law says that it tastes just like the bread his mother made when he was a child in the Ozarks. Thank you for the amazing recipie.

Sweet Corn Cake

This moist and sweet corn pudding is WONDERFUL!!! It goes really well as a side dish with Etouffee. This is a wonderful substitute for plain, dry corn bread.

Baked Maryland Lump Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
Perfect, perfect, perfect! These were so delicious, even my four year old loved them. They were not too spicy; I used a convection oven and they came out perfectly moist and firm. Thank you so much for this great recipe!

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
I had never tasted Gumbo, so I had no idea how this recipe "should" taste. That said, this recipe produced something quite delicious! It was a little bit salty, I think next time I will use less cajun seasoning, but it was still really, really good. THank you, thank you, thank you!

This is a wonderful recipe, a bit hit with my family. I rolled half in coconut and the other half in cocoa powder. Easy, easy, easy and quick!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
I made this for Christmas Dinner and it was a big, big hit. I did add a half a can of french fried onion to the mixture but that was because I LOVE them, not because I doubted the recipe. This was rich and delicious, perfect for a cold winter night. I will make it again, for sure!

Linguine with Seafood and Sundried Tomatoes

Very good sauce. I did not have all shrimp or scallops so I used three cans of clams instead. It was delicious! I will certainly try this recipe again with the proper seafood!

Poblano Chile Pepper Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
A very good soup. I think a can of black beans would be a good addition, just to make it more filling. Otherwise it was perfectly yummy!

Surprisingly good. I made a few changes because I was short on ingredients but it was still perfectly wonderful. A great cake...I was told that this was "the best cake I have ever tasted" by more than one person!

Old-Fashioned Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
This was pudding was GREAT! Once I tasted that it was good I modified the recipe to make a perfect banana pudding. To make the banana pudding: I tripled the recipe, used evaporated milk, added 2 chopped bananas and 15 crumbled Vanilla Wafers. Very yummy!

German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
This frosting was very good. I did add couple tablespoons of cornstarch, as others suggested. I also doubled the amount of coconut required. It turned out a perfect consistency, very tasty and not overwhelmingly sweet. Very good.

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
This was a a great recipe. I did triple the sauce recipe and I changed it a little because it was kind of ketchup-y tasting. To the sauce I added 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, a 1/2 cup vinegar, a half a cup of Worcestershire (total), and I added 1/2 an onion that was softened first by boiling in 1/2 cup of water. Even though I made these changes I still give the recipe a five star because the basic recipe was good, just not tangy enough for my family's taste.

Good stuff. I did add a whole bunch of old bay in the end though. I did not feel like it was spicy enough.
