I started cooking after getting married. I couldn't cook to save my life! At least five nights a week we ate Hamburger Helper, canned vegetables, and brown & serve rolls! My husband joined the Army & went to Korea. I had nothing else to do, so I bought a cookbook and the rest is history. I love cooking and baking and making people happy with food. I'm not afraid to try a new recipe, and I think that's the most important thing about cooking. Anyone can do it. I've developed a saying, "Your kitchen. Your rules." Which means make it your own - if you don't know, make it up. The kitchen is where families meet and share - it should be fun & creative.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baklava at Christmas!!
My cooking triumphs
Going from not cooking at all to coordinating & cooking for church banquets. I never thought I would enjoy cooking so much.
My cooking tragedies
Who hasn't had one? My husband knows when he hears "oh no!" from the kitchen, I've forgotten something or messed up the recipe. However, success can be found in tragedy! That's how I (accidentally) end up with one of a kind and often requested (more like in demand) recipes.
