Happily married w/2 kids for over 15 years to the man I met during a summer job as a bank teller (so many perks! :) Trying new recipes is an addiction for me - biggest compliment is "Can I please get this recipe from you??" Makes my heart happy! Now if I could just come to grips with the fact my cookbooks will never be interactive and have members ratings and comments following each recipe...
My favorite things to cook
Hmmm...anything chocolate or comfort food'ish. Anything that makes someone else happy, or gets a nod from my husband as he is chewing, followed by a "This is a 'must make again' recipe." If my kids like it, too, I'm ecstatic!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday Advent dinners, breakfast casserole on Christmas morning, New Year's day meal, Sunday pot roasts. Beach staples since high school: Triple Chocolate Cake and Taco Dip (have to submit those on here one day, though I've seen similar versions!)
My cooking triumphs
In my daughter's eyes, anything I make that is "my own recipe" (ie - NOT something I got off of this site! So not fair that she always asks, "So is this YOUR recipe, or did you get it from your website?" (as if using someone else's recipe is cheating!)I'm addicted to checking this site repeatedly throughout the day - I need my fix!
My cooking tragedies
Let's just say I've come a long way from my days in college in Chapel Hill when I had to call my Mom to ask, "So, how do you cook a can of corn...?" (she hasn't let me live that one down YET...)

Loaded Baby Reds
YUM!!! This will be my go-to for cookout dishes from now on. I almost tripled the recipe, used 1.5 bricks of cream cheese, sour cream, real bacon, scallions and added salsa (which I add to my usual 'loaded baked potato) - didn't blend it entirely - left it chunky, and it got rave reviews.

Asparagus Quiche
YUM!! And so easy! I have to confess to cheating - used 2 cans of drained asparagus (short on steaming time and I've not had much luck with fresh asparagus - comes out tough and chewy, despite extending the steaming time.) Not normally a fan of swiss cheese, but it goes great in this quiche. Did not do the egg white brush (again - short on time) but this was divine tasting!

Fruit Dip
This was perfect! I hoped to take the easy way out and buy a pre-made fruit dip (time crunch!) but couldn't find any at the store I went to (??) Looked this up on my phone, knew I had the ingredients at home, and whipped it up, exactly as written - the teen girls I served it to LOVED it! Served with GS apples, red grapes, strawberries and pineapple chunks. Thanks so much!
