Spiced Yogurt Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
I definitely will not make this again. It was very funny tasting. It must have been the yogurt, because I've made many spice cakes before usually with apples, but this one was not edible to me nor my husband. Although the texture was fine for a pound cake, I just didn't care for the taste.

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Wow, what a great recipe. They were so delicious. I don't have a bread machine, so I just made it with a little elbow grease. I proofed the yeast in the warm water & sugar until foamy (about 10mins), then added the other ingredients. But try not to use a small handheld mixer to mix. I almost had half the batter plastered on my wall. It works fine when worked through w/ a large spoon, then your hands. I turned the dough out onto a lightly floured board and kneaded for 10 mins. Then I let the dough rise for an hour in slightly oiled bowel covered by a moistened cloth. Did the rest per recipe. It was alot of fun to make. Pretty easy.

Caramel-Glazed Flan

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
This is a great tasting flan. I used 4 whole eggs, and regular sweetened milk for mine. The only thing is, I cooked it for a full hour and middle was just set, however after I inverted it and tried some, the bottom layer seemed like overcooked egg. You know kind of chewy and tough. So I think next time i'll watch a little closer, so it doesn't burn quite as much. I like my flan smooth and creamy. Great recipe.

Pan Dulces

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
The bread was definitely too dry when 5 cups were used. Next time I'll cut it down like others. But other than that, a great recipe. I will definitely try again.

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
Great recipe. I used chicken broth instead of water to add more flavor. This one turned out perfect. I often burn rice when cooked on the stove like this, but this time was different. It came out moist, but not soggy, and nothing stuck to the pot.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
I will definitely make this again. Little to no prep needed. I used chicken thighs instead and cut off the excess fat. Like many others, there wasn't enough sauce, so I just deglazed the pan with some wine, water, and thickened it with a little flour. Great recipe.

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
I absolutely loved this recipe! This was my first attempt at making my own crust and it turned out to be the best. I will never buy frozen again. Although my husband said it was too sweet, that is easily fixed w/ reduction of sugar to 1 1/2 cups. The cooked peaches did run a bit when we cut into it, but the next day it wasn't a problem. If it's too liquidy, I suggest using it as an ice cream topping. Yum!
