Cheese Ravioli with Three Pepper Topping

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
No real flavor and you end up with soggy vegetables. Not a recipe that I will be keeping.

Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
This was the first time I made pretzels and they turned out wonderful. I followed the recipe to a T and would not change a thing about the recipe.

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
This is my new favorite bread recipe! The rolls were easy to make and tasted great. I did take a reviewers tip to lower the baking temperature by 25 degrees in order to avoid burning the bottom of the rolls.

Tail Burner Firehouse French Fries

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I was hoping for flavorful spicy fries but these turned out to only be way too SPICY and I only used half the crushed red peppers. Not a recipe that I will be keeping for future use.

Coconut Macaroons II

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Wonderful! I wanted to make my parents some travel goodies and these turned out great. I took the advice of others and reduced the heat to 325 and cooked for about 20-25 minutes. I also refrigerated the mixture for about an hour before forming them with an ice cream scoop.

Death By Garlic

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
I made this recipe since I had all the ingredients at home. Neither my husband or I really cared for it. There was way too much olive oil - the noodles were drowning in oil. Also, there was not much flavor to it.

Turkey Lo Mein

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I was a little leery about this recipe. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. I did make a few changes. I could not find Ramen at the Commissary so I got Japanese noodles, Sapporo Ichiban, instead. Also, I had some frozen veggies, so I used those instead of peas and I also used fresh minced garlic instead of garlic powder. The Japanese noodle seasoning did not seem to be nearly as salty as Ramen seasoning, so I used both packages of seasoning.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I followed this recipe to a T and it turned out excellent!! After 15 minutes there was no need to mash the apples, they mashed up by themselves plus I like a little bit of lumps in my applesauce.

Braided Egg Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
I cut the recipe in half to the best of my abilities and made a "smaller" loaf, it still turned out huge, following the recipe to a T. The loaf tastes great and looks beautiful. Definitely a keeper!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Decent recipe with all the changes the other reviewers had suggested. I took the advice and sauteed an onion and garlic before adding the chicken. I also did not drain the beans. I was reluctant to keep all the juice from the corn, so I drained off half of the juice from the corn. I am glad I did because it would have been way too runny otherwise. With the changes it was a recipe that both myself and my husband enjoyed.

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I made these mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving and they turned out great. I took one reviewers advice and added a clove of garlic to the pot when I boiled the mashed potatoes and mashed it up with the rest of the potatoes.

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This recipe is really forgiving for bread. I messed up the recipe by mixing in all the flour at once and my sourdough starter was not quiet ready but the bread still turned out really well. Instead of sourdough bread I ended up with really good white bread.

Really easy starter. I had a layer of hooch on my starter by the next morning.

Herman Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
My biscuits turned out blah. I used a sourdough starter I already had ready instead of the Herman starter which may have been the problem.

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Good basic recipe. We tweaked it a little by adding more spice - garlic, salt and pepper.

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
I must have done something wrong. I ended up with dense "hockey pucks" rather than fluffy rolls. I am giving this recipe a three because my unbelievable hockey pucks tasted good and I think it was more my error than a bad recipe. This was only my second time making a bread product so maybe with some practice I will become more consistent. Update: Someone suggested that I warm up the milk and water to 110 and then mix with sugar and yeast rather than doing it on the stove b/c it is difficult to manage the temperature which is crucial with bread. This time I ended up with wonderful fluffy rolls. :)

Fabulous French Loaves

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
OMG I LOVE this recipe!! I had never made bread before and I was told not to expect it to turn out on my first try, but it turned out wonderful. I cut the recipe in half and made as stated, with the exception of the sesame seeds which I left out. Definitely a keeper!!! I only baked for 25 minutes - 35 minutes would have been too long.

Grilled Garlic Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
Not bad, but not the best potatoe recipe either. I was looking for a different recipe for potatoes, but my husband still prefers the lipton packaged seasoning on his potatoes.
