Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
So, so, so good! This is how restaurants' taco meat tastes. I made 1/2 a recipe and substituted a little cayenne pepper for the red pepper flakes. This made enough for one pound ground beef.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
I thought these were pretty good following the recipe, but I made changes the second time around. There is too much vanilla in this recipe, so I cut it in half and only used 1/2 tbsp. I used 1/4 cup white chocolate chips instead of chocolate chips and I used 1/4 cup coconut. I used pecans instead of walnuts. With these adjustments, they were outstanding!!! My husband and parents had both versions & preferred my remake.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
Not the best I have ever had, but the closest I have gotten to the best! My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with this. Next time, I will only use one can of beans and I will use a tablespoon or 2 more of the chili seasoning mix. GOOD!

Stir-Fried Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Not impressed in the least. It was nothing like stir fry rice.

Classic Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
This was good, but I would not rate it 5 star. It called for entirely too much thyme. I do not like it near as much as the recipe called for. However, I went ahead and followed it and was disappointed. Next time, I will use much less. Wasn't bad by any means though!

Chicken Fried Steak II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
WOW! I used 2 tbsp tobasco instead of 2 and a half because I am a wimp when it comes to spice. BUT- I could have handled all of it. My husband loved them! I served them with gravy or ketchup and either way was pretty good. I also made the gravy with half of the remaining flour/paprika, etc. mix mixed in with the plain flower to add some flavor. Then, I put a few dashes tobasco in the gravy. Wonderful recipe! Make sure to leave the strips/steak sitting out about 20 minutes after breading and before frying so that the breading sticks.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
This recipe was not as "WONDERFUL" as some of the posts said it would be. I am looking for a ziti recipe that is similar to the ziti served at Olive Garden. This recipe was just like the homemade lasagna I make. I did take the advice of one of the other users and added 1 egg in with the noodles and used the Italian cheese mix. Still, it was not all that appetizing and I have thrown away the recipe. I would rather make the lasagna. It is easier and tasier.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
This was a good recipe, but only because I changed it according to one of the other ratings. I added peas and carrots, used 1 can cream of chicken and 1 can cream of celery, rolled the biscuits in flour before dropping the pieces in, added sauteed onions, and used more chicken than the recipe called for. If I had not done these things, I believe the recipe would have been rather bland. I was not a huge fan, but my husband absolutly loved it! Next time, I will do homemade dumplings using Bisquick or Pioneer and just throw it on top of the mix and let it cook. This way, it will be fluffy instead of thick and doughy, like it turned out using canned biscuits.

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
This was an okay meal. I served it over rice, as I have done in the past. I used low sodium gravy mix and low sodium soy sauce (plus I left out the salt) and I still felt like it was pretty salty. But it was edible and my husband really enjoyed it. He loves Worcestershire sauce and I am not a big fan of it, so I think that is where my taste buds let me down. As for the texture and simplicity, 4 star. I put the whole 1/4 cup Worcestershire and next time, I will use half of that.

Parmesan Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
AMAZING RECIPE! I have never been a fan of pork chops (cooked in any way) and this recipe finally changed my mind. They were juicy and full of flavor. I served them with corn on the cobb and homemade mac & cheese, with a side salad. They would go great with ANYTHING! 5 star, will make again!
