I grew up in the country (Northeast Missouri) on a farm. My Grandmothers & Mom are such good cooks; I hope to emulate them.
I married my husband Dave in 2004 and instantly became a step-Mom to a 7 year old , Grace. I love being married and being a step-Mom; it's tough and tiring at times but always a blessing.
I've worked for a company that makes flavors for the past 12 years. I use those skills in my own kitchen. I only cook about 3 days a week.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts -- I'll try anything low fat.
BBQ Pork Steaks, Roasted Chicken, Chili, various casseroles...basically simple foods that can be frozen.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make Angel Food cake from scratch 1 time. It didn't rise. I called it my Fallen Angel cake. It was still good. I didn't want to wait until the eggs were at room temp -- patience is not my strong-point.
