Waldorf Salad II

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2012
I doubled the recipe, except used 3 teaspoons lemon juice (two with the apples, one with the dressing). This turned out so good! Brought it to a group gathering and everybody loved it. I ate what little was left over for lunch the next day. Will definitely make again, very easy.

Parmesan Broccoli Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
Surprisingly good! I used one 14 oz. bag frozen broccoli and two packages of stuffing. Really good and easy, my group loved them. I liked them best at room temp.

Cabbage Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2011
We really liked these! Didn't have brown sugar so after reading reviews used about 1 tsp white sugar, still just a little too sweet. Next time I'll omit sugar all together, and might switch out ketchup for tomato sauce. Loved the cabbage!

Smokey Chipotle Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
This has alot of potential, but I think I messed it up. I used thawed hamburger out of my freezer and probably mixed the ingredients too much, so mine came out a little dry and tough. The flavor was fantastic though, a nice change from my usual meatloaf. The family liked it. Needs quite a bit more salt too, for our taste.

Marzetti® Famous Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
Ok, 5 stars the way I make it! I have two versions that we think are fantastic. I've taken both versions to parties and people love them both! The first is to add a chopped jalapeno (to taste, sometimes I leave in the seeds and membrane for a real kick) and pineapple chunks. I use some of the pineapple juice from the can too. The other is to grate onion and apple and add to the slaw. I chill both thoroughly before serving. Yummy!!

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
This was really good, and I will make it again with a couple changes. I followed the recipe exactly (except cooked for 6 hours), but probably didn't seal the foil well enough. A lot of the sauce/juice came out onto the sheet pan, and I think the meat lost some flavor because of it. It was still completely tender and very tasty. Served on warmed corn tortillas with onions, cilantro and salsa. Next time I might try the crock pot, or really seal the foil for roasting in the oven. Hubby and I loved it; my daughter made a sandwich out of it with mayo and A1 on sliced sourdough bread and said it was great!

Peppered Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
Very good! Nice and spicy. Used fresh cracked walnuts off our tree, instead of pecans. I had peppercorn medly so used that instead of black and white pepper. I made this before I read other reviews so next time will add garlic salt. Will definitely make again.

Funky Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
This dish was really very good. I did make some changes though. Didn't have diced tomatoes w/chile's, so used regular diced tomatoes. I used hot italian sausage so there was still a nice bite to this dish. I didn't have ketchup either so just omitted it. Used the leftovers for burritos and they were great!

World's Best Cream Cheese and Pineapple Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
This was different and delicious! Everyone raved about this, and it was gone very quickly. The only change I made was that I didn't have onion powder on hand so used a little seasoned salt and pepper. I used one larger and one smaller garlic clove, so it wasn't overpowering at all. Served with sliced baguette. Yummy!

Mom's Italian Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
Yummy! I made a few changes though: used 7-bone roast, beef stock instead of bouillon, 1 small can diced tomatoes and peppers, 1/2 can tomato paste instead of tomato sauce, added celery and carrots, and cooked on the stove instead of slow cooker. Turned out GREAT!! Even better the next day!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
This was great! It was very easy to make and my husband & I really liked it. Followed the recipe, except only had bacon-ranch dressing on hand so used that. Husband's not a big fan of boneless chicken breasts so might try boneless thighs next time.

We loved these! So easy to make. After about 1/2 hour of cooling they seemed too sticky so I put them in the fridge. They were perfect. Love the salty and sweet taste.

Easy Crab and Horseradish Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
This didn't go over very well with my group. I didn't care for it too much myself. Kinda bland and the texure was weird to me. I doubled the recipe and used 3 cans of crab. Won't be making this again.

These were really good, and easy! I followed the recipe except added minced onion to the meat mixture. They were tasty and not dry like I thought they might be. I'll keep this recipe.

Garlic Sauteed Artichokes

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
Very good. I steamed them first, then added the butter and browned them a little, then added the garlic (so it wouldn't burn). My husband and I both loved them.
