Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
Have made this for many different friends... even one from Bangladesh who liked the spicey flavour (sometimes I double the spices). Also the use of broth instead of water was a good suggestion by other viewers.

Easy Baking Powder Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
Yum! I did 1 cup whole wheat and 1 cup white. I also used half 1% and half no fat cream because it's all I had. Then added some marbled cheese and hmm, hmm, hmm. Nice and doughy and perfect with my chicken rice soup :)

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
Very yummy. I make two different bread puddings and I like to call this one my sweet recipe. I agree with another reviewer who mentioned that it may be best to only make half of the vanilla sauce.

Sauteed Garlic Asparagus

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
Very good. I personally like my veggies to be a little firmer so would suggest reducing the noted cooking time to 6-8 minutes.

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Yum. Blueberries and lemon juice were added and they were delicious :) This recipe makes very few so for the amount of work that goes into baking I will likely double the recipe next time :)

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
I am in university and this recipe is very easy and when I have other students for dinner they love it! I don't think you really need to put it in the slow cooker. It is a great way to use a rotissorie chicken! I serve it with cheezy biscuits instead of tortillas.

Blueberry Drop Cookies

I made these for my students on a field trip and they loved them. Seemed a little sweet but a nice dessert type cookie :) I agree a change from chocolate chips is great!

Jo-Ann's Power Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2012
Very delicious, healthier than other granola bars and don't fall apart as easily. Made them with all purpose gluten-free flour and brown rice crispie cereal to make a gluten-free recipe. Used a wee less sugar because added peanut M&Ms and crasins to them. Delicious and a great cross country skiing snack :) Also I ended up making a second batch for my brother and his friends for their road trip! Everyone agrees they are yummy so thank you for sharing :)

Libby's® Pumpkin Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2012
WORKS FOR GLUTEN FREE! I used an all purpose gluten-free flour and cut back on the sugar (I don't like my quick breads very sweet). Very yummy! Also for the Beachchef reviewer below this is what I did and my loaf did not stick to the pan (I have also made this recipe with regular flour): grease a bread loaf pan with a stick of butter and sprinkle cinnamon around the pan. When I take the loaves out of the oven to cool I leave them in the bread pan until the bottom of the pan is not hot to the touch (even cool would probably be best). Good luck because I truly believe this recipe is a keeper!

Gobble Up Granola Snacks

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2012
I think this is a pretty good recipe but next time I would not put in any sugar. I used honey instead of corn syrup as well. Otherwise a good recipe and I will adjust it in the future (maybe adding a few chocolate chips or M&Ms). Thanks!

Very yummy. It is fresh tasting and I liked the combo of mint, cranberries and onion strangely enough. I chopped up all of the vegetables very small and it was delcious. My friend agreed.

Wacky Buckwheat Spice Cake

Wonderful bread! I was able to make it GLUTEN FREE by just substituting with a GF all purpose flour. In my oven it only took 30 minutes to cook. Will absolutely be making it again!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
I was able to make this gluten free by using a store bought GF flour mix. I also only put in 2C sugar. I baked it as directed and it was perhaps a few minutes too long. I would perhaps add a little bit more spice but that's just personal preference... my friends enjoyed it as is :) Will make again!
