Egg and Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
Easy and delicious. Made with ham to cut down on the fat. Have taken to several gatherings, and never have leftovers. Nice for potlucks because they're already portioned out.

Easy Baklava

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
By far the best baklava recipe I've tried. Takes some time (and patience) but worth it. Took it to a church potluck, and it was the first thing gone from the dessert table!

Israeli Salad

Very like the fattoush at a local Israeli restaurant--I added chopped carrots and fried pita chips. Excellent!

Crawford Polish Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2013
So easy, so good! Used homemade sauerkraut, rinsed well as recipe directed. I was skeptical about the nutmeg in the mashed potatoes, but it didn't overpower the dish and blended nicely with other flavors--not discernable with the overall flavor combination. Took to a potluck and it was well received--creamy, salty, tangy goodness!

Rachel's Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
Used home-canned tomatoes and basil from my garden. This was the best homemade tomato soup I've ever made. Easy, too. Even my daughter, who doesn't like tomato soup, ate it all up!

Shish Tawook Grilled Chicken

Very good, followed recipe as written. Tastes like the local Middle Eastern restaurants. I doubled the recipe, and there were still no leftovers. Wonderful.

This was the easiest risotto recipe I've tried, and the most delicious. I would make it again. Recipe easy to follow--love Chef John's videos!

So easy! Didn't have hominy, so omitted. My kids all liked it, which is rare.

Strawberry Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
Very easy, really yummy. I doubled the ingredients for a 9X13 pan, but used applesauce instead of butter for the cake--delicious! For the topping, I doubled all ingredients but the butter (only used 3 Tbsp) and it still turned out wonderfully. My company loved it!

Black Forest Cake I

Amazing! Perfect way to use some of the tart cherries I picked earlier this summer. Making your own filling and using real whipped cream made this cake really outstanding.

Canned Apple Pie Filling

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Wonderful flavor. I made two batches, and the second batch came out better because I really packed the apples in the jars. The first batch I didn't do that so the sauce-to-fruit ratio was waaay off. Rather than use those to make a pie, I just poured some of the excess sauce off when I opened the jar, and warmed the apples in a skillet with a little butter. Yummy! A happy mistake, fabulous with baked ham. If the sauce thickens too much to easily cover the apples in the jars, add a little water until it loosens a bit and it'll pour right over.
